Is anyone in favor of ditching the one off match at a neutral venue format of the UEFA CL Final for a two legged home and away tie (a la the Copa Libertadores)?

It takes away from the drama. The advantage/disadvantage is taken away for the final to make it an even playing field...no excuses, no holding out for a second game and there's no chance of losing a game and lifting a trophy at the end.

It's just a shit idea.

Rubbish idea. Finals should always be a one off game.

A home and away tie gives one team a distinct advantage. Why should one of the top 2 teams in Europe gain such an advantage? if you want a 2 legged tie, have both legs at neutral venues and no away goals rule.

But stick to a single game for me

Don't agree with that at all. Are you in favor of scrapping the home and away leg format for the last16 through the Semi Finals?!

potentially...do you think its fair to have an away goal ruling where if a game goes to extra time, one team potentially has 30 more minutes to score one?

it would probably be more fitting to scrap the away goals rule though

also, if you dont agree with that, why then is it stipulated that in the round of 16, the team that finishes top of their group should have the 'advantage' of playing at home in the second leg (i realise this contradicts my point on away goals) but the fact still stand that teams do receive an advantage from the 'luck of the draw'

Yeah, I think away goals shouldn't count if the tie goes into extra time.

New kid reiterating what I've said for years. Welcome...

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart
