New Real Madrid manager according to Tymoshchuk. Sounds like bollocks but would be pretty cool if true.

He's surely chatting shit. Would be nice to see Heynckes remain in the game but I think he'll retire now, end on a high. Whoever is potentially going to employ him must know he's only got a year or two left in the tank.

Heynckes to take break, won't coach Real Madrid

Jupp Heynckes has said he will take a break from football management next season, ending speculation he will replace Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid.

The outgoing Bayern Munich coach had been heavily linked with Real, where he won the European Cup in 1998 before getting sacked.

The 68-year-old will be replaced by former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola at Bayern this summer after leading Bayern to an historic treble of Bundesliga, Champions League and German Cup.

Heyckes, who last month turned 68, said: “Some clubs were interested in me, especially one club was interested in signing me.

"I will go on holiday, won’t sign a contract for the upcoming season I will think about things.

Heyckes told a press conference at Bayern's training ground: "I promised my wife last year that I would Bayern contract, and then stop work as a coach. I recognised I have reached a certain age.”

Franz Beckenbauer, who won the World Cup as both a player and coach, believes there could be an interesting opportunity in club administration for Heynckes, rather than a move to Spain, and that he should bow out as a coach on a high.

"I would advise him, after this gigantic success, not to coach another club under any circumstances," he told Sky television.

"He cannot achieve more than what he has already done with FC Bayern.

"Maybe, if he still wants to, he could coach a national team, or go into management, like a director of sport, if he wants to remain in the game - that is what I would advise him."

Heynckes 'not amused' by Bayern's Supercup loss

Die Roten's former boss admitted the defeat did not sit well with him, but tipped successor Pep Guardiola to turn things around

Jupp Heynckes says he was "not amused" at Bayern Munich's 4-2 DFL-Supercup final loss to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

The 68-year-old led the Bavarians to an unprecedented treble last season, only to watch on helplessly as his successor Pep Guardiola suffered defeat in his first competitive match in charge at Signal Iduna Park.

However, Heynckes stated he was not to downhearted at the setback and tipped the Spaniard to achieve further success following his 14 titles in four seasons at Barcelona.

"I barely managed a team which was that perfect and so focused to succeed," he told ZDF Sportstudio. "I'm not amused [by the loss], these are still my guys.

"The team isn't that far from showing a top performance. Pep looks very good, is well-dressed and has a perfect team.

"What could possibly go wrong?"

Guardiola replaced Heynckes in the dugout after the latter's contract expired, but the German insists he has no regrets about walking away from the game.

"At some point you have to decide to retire, this is what I'm going to do now," Heynckes added. "It's important to stay cool with this atmosphere in football. I think I did that well.

"I will watch the start of the Bundesliga from the comfort of my living room now."

:cheek: Cheeky lad.
