Well they say they're not so the French Clubs are going on striker next month and it's been said they're probably going to find a way to make them exempt.

Yeah, they'll be spending a while paying theirs off though.

French clubs are probably going to be exempt from the supertax.
That's a disgrace.

?

The French, especially with Euro '16 coming up, will generate more revenue by making allowances for footballers than they will taxing the fuck out of them.

And this coming from a tax happy hero.

Don't kid yourself, gayboys, all these stadiums are due to Euro 2016 and not the emergence of Ligue 1.

PSG 81k. That's the emergence of PSG and their success will help Ligue 1 grow as will Monaco who are also getting a new stadium.

Don't really see the relevance of relevance Euro '16.

And I agree that high taxes make you massively uncompetitive, but just making allowances for a single profession is disgusting, especially from a supposedly socialist government who are happy to tax the shit out of people who can barely afford it.

You could have said the same thing about Germany '06, it still massively boosted the league.

No, that's the Parisian mayor and the French wanting a stadium in preparation for 2016. It's pretty fucking simple, Stade de France being the perfect example in '98.

Without them improving and gaining a rich owner 81k would not be possible. It's down to their emergence as much as anything.

Making allowances --> Increases likelihood of attracting superstars --> Increases the status of the league --> Increases fanbase around the world, increases revenue --> Increase in revenue allows for increase in stadium capacity --> Increase in stadium capacity, increase in fanbase (inc. France) results in an increase in interest --> Increase in interest? Increase in stadium capacity? Increase in fans? = Increase in revenue.

More to do with Euro '16 because there is an incentive for the government to allow for planning permission. Plus it's not more to do with the emergence of Ligue 1 but more to do with the increase in investment in Ligue 1. They have to allow for the building/extending of stadiums to entice investors and thus to increase the status of Ligue 1.

Either way, Ligue 1 will be behind EPL/La Liga/Bundesliga and, if Serie A get their act together, them too. Outside PSG, and with the FFP rules, the clubs have little history and the cities aren't exactly the greatest.

I've said this before: La Liga and Serie A need to change, neither are helped by the fact they're based in shit, corrupt, slimey countries. In fact their leagues reflect that. Spain in particular is fucked unless they sort out their TV deal; even then people can't afford to go to games. There's a lot of money in France by comparison that, combined with the massive investment they're currently getting, will see them go far. They've still got a lot of work to do to catch up with the EPL/DBL.
