Dunno about La Liga, shit league, but Serie A won't be back for at least another 10 years if they want to be back in the game long-term. Some shitty, shitty management on behalf of Moratti throughout his tenure and Berlusconi since 2005 has resulted in the demise, match-fixing, stadium ownership + shitty fans. "According to Agnelli, England's Premier League makes about 2bn a year from televison rights, half of that domestic and half foreign. [The foreign proportion is growing, but I would calculate it at much less than a half]. Italian clubs make about 1bn, 90 per cent of which is generated within Italy." No global fanbase and never even had it during the better years of Serie A. What they need is to build/purchase their own stadiums, improve the infrastructure, allow for increased foreign investment (management far more shrewd), rely and develop their youth for the next 10 years, accept that they are a "transit league" for a while but through that they can buy low and sell high (Pogba/Vidal & Silva/Ibrahimovic being examples) and sort out their TV revenue through proper business. But then again, Italy is a mess of a country anyway. |

http://www.worldfootball.net/news/_n1057537_/football-france-sells-tv-rights-for-nearly-1-billion/ The auction put France in fourth place in the European television rights league -- ahead of Germany (675m euros), but behind Spain (750m), Italy (960m) and especially England's Premier League, which earns a massive 1.7 billion euros a year. Bundesliga were reported to be getting a £1B deal earlier this season. Edited by Goonie, Apr 5 2014, 02:29 AM.
