As we all know, they will be spending significantly this summer. Apparently they already have a deal in place with Falcao and it looks likely to happen. Just today L'Equipe have reported that Monaco also have a deal in place with Carlos Tevez and they only need to agree with City. Massive signings if they come off. |

Ligue 1 is on the rise. Going to become a much more attractive prospect for players. |

Only PSG and Monaco, none of the other clubs are good enough to attract top players. |

Doesn't mean Ligue 1 isn't on the rise. Just two years ago there was no chance of that league attracting world class players. Now there are two clubs world class players would be willing to play. |

If they start performing well then the league as a whole will be more of an attractive prospect. Marseille and Lyon aren't exactly the worst club you could be joining in what will become a strong league. |

I've said this for ages, won't be long at all before the three biggest leagues in Europe are played in the countries with the three biggest economies and populations. Far easier to attract domestic sponsors, more money in the pot for domestic TV deals, higher demand for tickets to games and better infrastructures to get there. Spain is only holding on because of its pathetically unjust TV deals that keep Barca and Madrid afloat and Italy is falling apart rapidly. Can't wait to see those corrupt countries get their cumuppance. As for Monaco, I think it's a bit unfair that they have to pay a fraction of the wages of other French clubs due to their different tax laws but for the time being it's in the league's interest to shut up and put up with it as it's going to make the French league a far more attractive prospect. Which will gain the league more attention, possible more money and if PSG and Monaco perform in Europe it will make the league rise in the standings. This is big for the league not just for those two clubs. |

It's not impossible for PSG to win the CL next season, they were very impressive against Barcelona and they have a manager who knows how to win the competition. |

They still need a few players, you can't be expecting to win the CL if you're starting David Beckham at CM and an aging Maxwell at left back. I expect them to make some signings this summer though. |

Is this a fact? If Monaco and Psg are dominant in the league and at least 10 points ahead of anyone else, why would the rest of the league become an attractive prospect? |

Barcelona and Real Madrid usually finish more than 10 points ahead of everyone but Falcao still joined a side below them. PSG aren't 10 points ahead of the league atm either. |

If the TV rights are distributed equally then the whole league benefits from having stellar names as TV companies will be paying more to show the games. More money in the league is therefore available to spend on players, it also has the potential to attract more oligarchs and as Goonie has already said, it may end up meaning that the French league gets another CL slot in the long term. Lille are Marseille are well set up to capitalise on this. High in the league at the moment and both have 50,000+ seater stadiums, as are Bordeaux aswell to a lesser extent, they have a new stadium on the way seating 43,000. Good answer mate thanks. Dag, sure they're attractive but also because there is more money in those leagues than in Ligue 1 and probably still will be for years to come? I get what everyone is trying to say, no one wants ligue 1 to be on the rise more than me so hopefully, but we'll just have to wait and see |
