Pellegrini wouldn't be available in January, the lads upstairs are panicking.

Loads of speculation over Mancini today, we're in London for the Reading game tomorrow and Mancini left in a cab on his own.

You may aswell just change manager now anyway. The club on the whole looked a bit stale this season, A new manager and a few top signings will sort you out. Pellegrini will be a top addition

you will be happy to hear that chelsea are apparently favourites to sign Cavani now

It's more performances on the pitch and the face not fitting than failure to win something.

Face not fitting?
Soriano and Begiristain want to build an empire similar to the way they built Barcelona, they want that Spanish speaking 'yes man' who'll buy into their philosophy. Mancini wasn't that man, way too stubborn, wants to play his own way and make his own decisions.

Contradictory statement given how much shit you give Arsenal for the way they run their club.

Wow, the top three clubs all changing managers.

Sad to see him go, he did a lot for City but in a way his number was up, now they've won the league you're looking for progression as a club and there was a sense he'd taken them as far as he could go - similar to his time at Inter. He should take a year or two out the game and spend some time developing himself tactically. He seems to have hit a wall at both Inter and City, especially in Europe, and I think he needs to work out exactly what he's doing wrong. I wish him the best though, seemed like a genuinely nice guy who brought a lot to the Premier League.

As for City, it's probably the right decision going forward but it's a fucking disgusting piece of timing. He deserved to have the final game for the fans to pay him some respect for winning them their first title in an age, as well as the FA Cup. Give the lad another six days in the job, Jesus.

Winner.

What do you mean? I was referring to the two spanish twats behind the scenes at city with delusions of recreating their barca project. A manager should manage and be judged on their record. One season without a trophy but still finishing second isnt a sackable offense especially when they won it the season prior. 8 years on the other hand...

Wonder if United fans will still come out with this drivel in 2/3 years when they haven't won anything.

It's a sign of ambition though, we've identified a weak area early on and looked to rectify it. As Cule said, Mancini's progression with this side had stalled, and as much as I love the guy and was sceptical of his sacking, I had a gut feeling that sacking him would be the right decision once I'd put my emotions aside. Performances on the pitch haven't been up to standard despite being fairly good in terms of results, we've not been the side we should be, on paper you look at our side and wonder how we're 13 points behind United and losing a cup final to a side who is going to be playing Championship football next season. It may look like a knee jerk decision because of our failure to win something this year, but the decision is based on the long term, I can guarantee you Pellegrini won't be sacked next season if he fails to win a trophy.
