1. Barcelona 2. Real Madrid 3. Bayern 4. Manchester United 5. Manchester City 6. PSG 7. Juventus 8. Dortmund 9. AC Milan 10. Monaco I'd love it to be Barcelona, Juventus with the two French clubs just behind. Bayern have been fantastic this season but I'm sticking by Barcelona and Madrid. I just chose the top two from each league, but couldn't be sure of France's top two so I included the side which has the most potential over the next five years. |

1. Arsenal - Arsenal continue to go from strength to strength, Pep Guardiola's incredible successes following a disastrous spell at Bayern Munich have left many fans wondering what might have been had ex-manager Arsene Wenger not resigned earlier. Arsenal really are the side to beat the the moment. 2. AS Monaco - José Mourinho's men are marching towards the title with France and a Champions League final with Arsenal, it's been a phenomenal rise from the principality club. Club ambassador Yaya Touré agrees that the signing of legendary #10 Lionel Messi was the final piece of the jigsaw for what could be a treble winning side. 3. Bayern Munich - The Bavarians have recovered after the disastrous Guardiola experiment. Topping a competitive Bundesliga but looking likely to go out to Monaco in this year's Champions League, the future still remains bright for the Munich club. 4. Juventus - One of Italian football's few success stories. The Turin club have become a model of efficiency and smart spending which has stood them in good stead recently. 4 Scudetti in 5 seasons is no bad return but they still long to bring the European Cup back to Italy after an 8 year wait. 5. Real Madrid - Rafa Benítez's club have suffered as La Liga finally decided to modernise its TV rights deal, greatly heightening the revenues of many teams and resulting in an increasingly competitive league, topped by a resurgent Valencia. Lying in 2nd place in the table it seems unlikely that they will challenge a dominant Valencia anytime soon. 6. Barcelona - Barcelona have also struggled to adapt to the newly competitive Primera Divisíon. Captain Gerard Piqué recently bemoaned last summer's sale of the star Lionel Messi to AS Monaco as the biggest mistake in the club's history. Residing in 3rd place in the league, they're a shadow of their former selves but show signs of improvement under Frank de Boer. 7. Manchester City - The popular revolution in Abu Dhabi has hit City hard, the new republic has seized the assets of Sheikh Mansour and City's spending power has been considerably limited recently. However, due to a wise marketing strategy, City still have enough revenue to ensure they're a Premier League top four contender. It may be a while however before they repeat their heroics of the Camp Nou Champions League Final in 2015. 8. Manchester United - The loss of Ferguson has hit United hard, Rio Ferdinand is the latest inept lackey, taking over the helm from Ryan Giggs as manager of the once great club, now battling with Newcastle United for the Europa League places. 9. Borussia Dortmund - The heady days of Jurgen Klopp seem a distant memory for this Dortmund side, now 12th in Die Bundesliga after a host of player sales and managerial changes, they may never have such a chance at glory again. 10. AC Milan & PSG - The sad tale of these two clubs is a story that will long be a lesson to European football. Continuing to spend on an ever dwindling budget, even administration could not save Milan from its rot of corruption and excess. They ceased trading in 2015. For PSG it was simply a manner of bad timing, the Arab Revolutions and oil seizures crippled a side overly reliant on a sugar daddy. The club now resides in Ligue 3. |

A lot of people underestimating how much can change, five years ago it was something like this: Man United Chelsea Liverpool Arsenal Real Madrid Barcelona Inter Villarreal |

Those were such great times, I remember coming on here to chat with Homer about the latest episode of Extra Time on Real Madrid TV, Sid Lowe and that French guy were legends. Such a good show. |
