I don't think, commercially, we'd be as great. The pressure that's been on us for us to grow and reduce the debt was the stimulus for our new founded commercial power. I could never see us getting such a massive deal from the American companies, Nike and Chevrolet, and a deal for our training kit as a PLC.

Hopefully with the new TV deal + Nike deal + Chevrolet. We're looking at an amazing £40M + £20M + £20M (£80-100M, depending on our CL progress) by 2015. That'd pump our revenue up to near £500M. Fuck me. Debt should be serviced by 2018 but I dunno, I can't see us changing our principles and splashing out £40-50M on players, we're too value orientated so I really can't see where this money is going to go considering we're not going to put it to use.

Bayern, United + Arsenal have the best business models in Sports. Fascinating case studies, United being the biggest sports franchise in the world, Bayern for its ability to dominate German football/sponsors/market and Arsenal generating "real" income.

Bayern aren't all that interesting for me. They've always had by far the biggest club in Germany and have something like 60-70m fans domestically (especially with how Germany prevent foreign ownership). Nobody can possibly compete with that, so it's natural that all of the sponsors flock to them. In England there's a lot more competition, particularly for Arsenal. Although we're in Europe's biggest city, we've got to compete with Chelsea and Spurs, not to mention United/Liverpool are historically bigger clubs and now City.

Oh, and how shit are Schalke?! Massive turnover yet they can't even muster a half decent title challenge. Horribly run club, and they've always had a pretty good academy.

The World's, mate, the World's biggest & best city.

Arsenal can compete comfortably with any club in England bar United, not to mention that Chelsea+Spurs will have to produce new stadiums that will set them back, especially in the latter's case.

Btw, compete for what? Financially or in the pitch?

Possibly because any half decent German talent would be snapped up by Madrid/Milan/English clubs or because they'd move to Bayern.

Both. United have a bit more muscle but your squad is a bit older and we've got a massive advantage in terms of coaching.

Schalke haven't signed intelligently. No excuses for them when you look at what Dortmund have accomplished in the last 5 years. I know Schalke made the Semi Finals, but in the league they haven't fulfilled their potential.

Arsenal will never compete with United financially, it's taken them so long to cop on and tour the far-east ffs. Absolutely no chance of that happening.

And squad? We've got De Gea, Rafael, Fabio, Smalling, Evans, Jones, Cleverley, Januzaj, Kagawa, Powell, Zaha, Fellaini + Welbeck who are 25 and under. I'd say Arsenal/United are on even terms there with Chelsea having a significant advantage. But it's a moot point because we'll just splash the cash.

Could say the same for Liverpool, rich history, massive football club, large revenue with a huge fanbase yet poor choice of managers, directors and signings.

Shit clubs will be shit clubs.

Of course we can. We've already closed the gap considerably in the last 8-10 years due to Emirates and the genius of Arsene Wenger. Now SAF is gone certainly won't be winning as many trophies as you have in the last 20 years. Signing of Özil is already a signal of things to come IMO, a true world superstar coming to Arsenal while your lot signed an afro headed twat.

Very good nucleus of young defenders, but in terms of attacking talent our lot blows yours away. Özil/Walcott/Ramsey/Wilshere/Chamberlain all 24 and under, all massively superior to the ones at United. Also, Zelalem is better than any United academy product.

First of all you're stadium is quite a bit smaller than ours, we've got an established fanbase in N.America and Asia/Australia which isn't suddenly going to shift to Arsenal so Ghana stronghold won't last, we have v.marketable players (van Persie, Rooney, Hernandez + Kagawa), we're already established as the biggest sports club in the world and what you're telling me is that Arsenal can compete on the same level as the biggest sports franchise of all time? Lol.

Trailing £20M a year behind in matchday revenue. Relevant.

BOOM.
