Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Cheapest Season Ticket Prices:

Arsenal - £985
Man City - £299

Might be financed corruptly but at least they're not fucking their fans over.
Utter shit comment.

Supply and demand, simple economics. Arsenal has a waiting list of 40-60,000ish whereas I highly doubt City even have a waiting list ffs.

Not to mention Arsenal's season ticket inc. food/drinks which would cost an extra £10 a game x 19 = £200. Not to mention the Emirates is in London hence season tickets reflecting the discrepancy in wages/salaries due to the North/South divide. Not to mention Arsenal are a self-sufficient club hence are heavily dependent on "internal" sources of revenue as opposed to being funded by oil money.

Moronical.
I'm aware of why they do it, I just don't think they deserve so much praise for being so exploitative. Both clubs are essentially milking rich people for all they're worth, that some are Arab Sheikhs and some are middle-class southerners is immaterial. Both are a plague on the game - one by inflating wages/transfer fees, the other by pricing people out of watching their team.

Winner.

What do you not understand about Arsenal being a self-reliant club? They have a NEED to "price people out of watching their team" in order to produce success on the pitch.

Arsenal's matchday revenue forms 41% of their overall model, cut ticket prices in half to make them far more accessible and they'll lose out on £50M a year. They are very much dependent on that particular source of income and if the demand is excessive then they need to exploit that in order to compete at the top level.

A more valid comparison, other than comparing it to a team far up North, is with Chelsea. Chelsea's cheapest season ticket is £750 but they don't chip in for free drinks/foods and they neither do they offer 7 free cup games and neither do they have a waiting list AND neither are they as dependent as Arsenal on their matchday revenue. So looking at that comparison, or even with Spurs, Arsenal are doing remarkably well in keeping their ticket prices down.

For a club who had heavy debt but with a huge demand for their season tickets they could have easily hiked their prices up 10% with the stadium still being packed and essentially earn themselves £100M extra over 10 years. But they didn't and their ticket prices are spot on IMO.

Bizarre reasoning.

Still x3 greater demand for Arsenal.

AND FOR FUCK'S SAKE, Arsenal's season ticket includes 7 cup matches. So 7 x £40 = Essentially £300.

So 26 games x £10 food/drinks = £250 AND 7 x £40 cup games = £300. £250+£300 = £550.

£985 - £550 = £435. Difference of about £100-150 so considering Arsenal are in London, have a far greater demand and have a far greater need to push the prices up I'd say that is on par with City.

Bellends.
ZeeZoo has made his point superbly in this discussion. Brilliantly worded and no detail missed out.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

I wasn't being condescending, you really can't read people.

However, it's not 7 cup games, it's 0-7 cup games.

I for one hate that our prices are so high.

But It's quite simple, if you don't want to pay it..... Don't. Someone else will.

Why's it so hard to understand. people moan left right and centre. That's life.

I have to pay £1,300 to have insurance on my car for 12 months. I hate it, but I pay it.
I'd probably expect to pay around a grand to have my own seat at Arsenal for an entire season. Is it right or wrong? I don't know. But that's what they set the prices at, people should just deal with it.

The same people bitching that its too high would also be bitching if they lowered it, we lost a couple star players, and missed out on CL due to not being able to compete financially.

bitches.

CL is included. Minimum of 5 games there.

So why aren't we touring in China and India then?

We have 1M Man Utd credit card holders in S.Korea, no chance India or China would match those numbers (don't even mention population).

USA & S.Korea/Japan are the primary target markets.

UEFA has revealed that it is investigating 76 clubs in European competition this season for possible breaches of its Financial Fair Play rules.

The 76 clubs - which represents about one-third of the total number playing in Europe - all failed UEFA's rules for 2012 and have been asked to provide financial information for 2013.

Premier League sides Manchester City and are believed to be among the clubs involved, along with French club Paris St Germain.

The clubs have been asked to give updated financial statements to an independent UEFA-appointed panel monitoring their finances.

UEFA says it will announce the first sanctions against clubs in April and more serious cases will be judged by June.

The European body's general secretary Gianni Infantino said: "This figure of 76 clubs is a high figure but it has to be looked at in the perspective of what the end figure will be."

UEFA's rules for FFP state that clubs will be punished by potential bans from European competition if they do not balance their books, allowing them to lose only €45m (£38m) over a three-year period - provided these losses are covered by a benefactor.

There is also a requirement to keep up to date with 'overdue payables', such as taxes and player wages.
