Arsenal's net spend is great but isn't amazing when you take into account Arsenal were a well established, title winning side before '00 whilst Chelsea+City were shit.

Now for a difference of £150M, between us and Arsenal, we won PLx5 + CLX1 + became a bigger club for it, being top dog, winning title, TV revenue, marquee signings etc. etc.

So in essence, relative to United, I'd say it's on par.

So in a nutshell, how exactly are Fifa going to stop teams like Man City and Chelsea buying their way to the league every other season???

By barring them from playing in the Champions League. It'll never happen though.

They won't, City is becoming a self-sufficient club with dodgy sponsorship deals whilst Chelsea did their massive signings before the FFP kicked in + their youth set up is looking good + their squad is v.young so they are good for a while.

PLUS, TV revenue is going to be a massive boost for both clubs and the PL being the best league in the world will ensure their sponsorship deals will increase well too.

All in all, they're alright.

"Between 2000-12 Chelsea never outperformed in terms of wage-bills i.e. ranking in wages higher than final league position. Staggering. "

I don't get this, they never finished higher in the league than they were ranked in the wage bill league or vice versa?

The latter. Basically Chelsea were shit every season bar 04/05 and 05/06. Criminal that they didn't win the league in 06/07 given the amount they spent.

Soooooo..... it's all BS in reality?

What's going to stop their owners doing something crazy (But legal) like set a home shirt price at £200million... then walking into the shop himself and buying it. Or if he himself would be able to.. just set up a TP business (or a family member could) and they could buy a shirt for 200m. It's crazy talk, but if it's all legit, then whos to say they can't?

Bang, just like that they've "made" their money.

like how could you find a fault in that?

UEFA have a comission set up, they're "investigating" the Etihad deal but nothing will come of it because they don't have the balls to kick City of Europe + City have grounds for an decent argument, ie. PL winners + big names players + in CL.

Essentially, you've gotta either have (a) a massive revenue, where United come in, (b) a quality scouting network + youth set-up, Arsenal or (c) a good wage structure in place.

Yeah I could have guessed - nothing will come of it.

Money really does rule everything, and it's very difficult to get around.

Yeah but Arsenal's real strength is in their scouting network and youth set up where they are matched by no-one in England and no-one in Europe bar Barca.

Bayern don't count considering, as mentioned many a time, the twats have an easy monopoly over the Germans.

Our scouting is ok, it's not amazing. You don't need scouts to sign Ozil or Cazorla. Grimandi/Wenger did amazing to find Sagna and Koscielny though.
