Sounds harsh but he needs to be replaced ASAP. He's done a good job in his time at City and I'm not saying he's not a good manager, but things have become very stale, and City no longer have a home or league unbeaten record to cling on to now. Time for change, any suitable replacements out there right now?

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Can't put all your eggs on Mourinho. Whoever comes in isn't going to take you out of the top 4, so there isn't much of a risk factor. Things need changing at Etihad for me.

Ant is absolutely spot on, Scholes is so wrong. The PL is far from lost. City will be playing once a week for the rest of the season and if they want can sign big players in January. United will have neither luxury.

Mancini isn't going to put City out of the top 4 either, not sure why you've made that point Scholes. There isn't a manager out there that is better than Mancini that City could sign now. Might as well continue until the summer with a manager that has already won the PL once with that squad. They might be able to do it again this season, if not, assess in the summer when managers will actually switch teams.

Winner.

I obviously made that point to show that there's no risk factor like there was when sacking Di Matteo. City will obviously challenge and a lot can change even in the space of the next 3 weeks even but for me if I was a City fan I wouldn't feel very optimistic about winning the title. Today may have been their first loss but they have been way under par all season. Obviously United have problems despite great results so far, but if they persist with Mancini I can't see it getting better.

The first loss scenario may take the shackles off as you'd put it, but I don't think it will have a positive effect.

Name me a manager City could sign tomorrow that would guarantee better results than Mancini.

If we can just put in a decent performance and snatch an away win at Fulham then St James' is going to be a really difficult trip for them on Saturday.
