I apologise if my votes look biased towards my buddies but I'm afraid Elcule only really has one weak link in Leboeuf, with Given and Kewell also being 'lesser' players but undeniable top class PL performers.

Rolling has a couple of 'half weak links' (Hypia and Baines), though both are still excellent PL performers, both lack a bit of wow factor, and I don't like the deployment of Gudjohnsen. His front three though is terrifying, the best in the game and that keeps him ahead of Clancy.

Clancy's full backs aren't the best, but they're better than Ants, and his wingers are n't the best, but they're better than Carragher and Hamann who are weak links for me in Ant's team.

The front five of Ant's team though is pretty much a who's who of the best two players in their positions in the prem era, and for that reason he is above Chrissy, who suffers from a really poor quality centre mid but other than that (and King) has produced a very nice team.

Scholes has an average and messy midfield, though him and Trig have nice attackers, both of them failed to gain a vote thanks to the presence of too many average players.

Clancy and Ant's team are exactly the same except Clancy has nothing out wide (in all four roles) and Ant merely struggles at full back. Picking the former team ahead of the latter is baffling. People are forgetting how good Carragher was aswell.

Tbh Cule i don't think Carragher was ever that good. Obviously, at his best he was decent but at his best he was a poor mans John Terry. Constantly making last ditch tackles and blocks which everyone would rave about, yet a player like Rio will have read the danger way beforehand and stepped in before it became a threat. His biggest asset was that he was a leader and a winner, he would literally rather die than not put himself infront of something. Obviously it is just my opinion, but i am very reserved on the types of defender that do their best bit of defending at the end of an attack, and more complimentary to the more subtle aspects.

Unsurprising mate. You have no effeciency from the wings where as i have and they will be providing for a near 30 goal a season striker whereas you don't have one that surpasses 20; even at that we all know how good Ballack was at arriving late as an aerial threat. Sure you've got a fantastic pick in Vidic but so have I in Stam. Ledley King before his injury was also a great CB and i'd also say my full backs are stronger than yours. Infact, your words are that Sagna is the best RB the PL has ever had (which i don't agree with) but he still shits on Lauren.

After all that, Schmeichel also curls a massive one out on Friedels chest, so the only clear advantage you have on me is in midfield.

I agree with the fact that he was a poor man's Terry, that is nothing to be sniffed at though. My memories of him will always be from the CL where he was the rock upon which Rafa built the best tournament side in European football. I feared Liverpool so much back then, should have won the competition at least one more time. It's one of football's great tragedies that we never got to see a United - Liverpool CL tie between 06-09 :(

Pish, such a focus on physical presence. Henry, Zola and Le Tissier wipe the fucking floor with them.

Finished my write ups and believe me, I've been so impartial and not even focused on which team belonged to who. I couldn't be more honest if I tried in those write ups, not held one single agenda against any poster or player. Rolling's team didn't strike me as a great one at first but the more I studied it the better it looked, same with Elcule's. Artrun's stood out but was let down by the shortage of a genuine world class player. I honestly do think my team is the best in the draft but Rolling's was very close in the end. In hindsight, I wish I'd have picked Neville instead of getting Wright, then hoped I'd have still got Wright later on. People have been way too harsh on my CBs as it's already been said. Keown was a monster but most on this forum won't remember that, and Carragher has been unfairly criticised by all bar Elcule who imo, is the only person to have assessed his true quality at his peak, rather than focusing on the dry piece of work that he's been over the last year or two. Great draft though, my favourite draft so far.

Two great posts there Ant. I think you are very harsh on my wide picks and Desailly but at least you backed up your opinion.

Desailly's European career was superb, brilliant for Marseille and Milan, he'd be a monstrous pick in a 92-12 European draft game, but in the PL he achieved nothing of note and didn't even perform at a top level for the majority of his time in England.

I obviously haven't seen the majority of his games in the PL, but the guy was named in the team of the first 10 years of the PL (not sure how it was worded), surely that adds some weight to his section?
