When are Liverpool going to get started on this? Would be absolutely immense to see Anfield expanded to 60,000+.

Winner.

http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/161747-lfc-reveal-stadium-expansion-vision

The exhibition shows the detailed design proposals for the redevelopment of the Main Stand which could add an additional 8,500 seats taking the Main Stand capacity to nearly 21,000 and overall Anfield capacity to around 54,000.

Not the kind of expansion to get too excited about but its a start . were doing it gradually so that we dont have to become a selling club. Gradually increase our stadium capacity without having to sell our star assets like arsenal did and still have a healthy transfer kitty. Once this expansion is complete and the surrounding areas of the ground are done up with the hotel complexes and shops etc it will lay the foundations for further investment in ground capacity expansion. I'm excited for our future

21,000 for one single stand, quite a lot. Dortmunds famous stand holds 24,000.

Are you second in that sense?

Doubt it, don't think Liverpool's stand is behind the goal so they have the full length of the pitch to work with.

You're right, it's a new three-tiered Main Stand, just checked.

Just puts it into perspective how massive Dortmunds southern terrace is. 25,000 crammed into an end stand.

The cantilevered roofs remind me of Old Trafford.
