Put together a France all-star XI vs Brazil all-star XI which is only including players from 1997 until now and then decide which team you think is better

Barthez
Thuram Blanc Desially Lizarazu
Vieira Makelele
Ribery Zidane Pires
Henry

Cesar
Cafu Lucio T.Silva R.Carlos
G.Silva Emerson
Rivaldo Kaka Ronaldinho
Ronaldo

Might have forgotten a couple of players, looking at that it's fucking difficult to choose but i'd maybe give the edge to France. Just.

I agree with both teams completely, and I also give the edge to France. Brazil don't seem to produce many quality passing midfielders.

I was searching my brain to think of some good Brazilian CM's, stunned that those 2 were the best i could think of. Pretty amazing how many top-class players France have suddenly produced over the last 15 years.

Not that amazing, 15 years is a long time, England can produce something pretty decent too:

................. Hart
G. Neville .. Terry .. Rio .. A.Cole
Beckham .. Scholes .. Gerrard .. ??
............. Rooney .. Shearer

This is just an example so stfu if you were cosnidering mentioning anyone whos name is Frank or Tony.

Winner.

Yeah England always have pretty great players. Other factors conspire against them. It's pretty fucking tough to win International tournaments though, loads of luck involved and if you have one bad match you can be packing your bags.

Sometimes I think it'd be class if for one season all the international teams played a league season with 38 matches. I wonder who would come out on top.

I'd also give the edge to France, the only area that really stands out is the two sitting centre midfielders you chose for Brazil, they just don't compare to Makelele and Vieira for me.

OMFG That'd be class, Spain would probably dominate and win the league comfortably just because of the depth they have. England would do very well as well, i'd fancy them to come in the top 3.

A fully fit Owen would be in England's, as for France/Brazil, Brazil for me.

Whose* or David...
Scholes

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Pretty much agree with KoL's team's here, and that France are the overall best option. Great depth of quality throughout the team.
