Villarreal coach Preciado dies aged 54

Spanish coach Manuel Preciado died of a heart-attack in Valencia aged 54 on Thursday, his former club Sporting Gijon said in a statement on their website.

Preciado had recently agreed a deal to take the reigns at relegated Villarreal for next season and was scheduled to be presented at the Madrigal on Friday.

Winner.

This is such a sad day :(

"If no one at Real Madrid is going to tell this bloke how to behave, I will. Who the f**k does he think he is to say things like that? Who does he think he is to say that about a team like us: a humble side that fights to the very last to stay in the top flight? Well, we might be poor but we're not idiots." :tremble:

"In 2002, Preciado's wife died from cancer. Two years later, his 15-year old son (one of two the couple had) was killed in a car crash. He later claimed about the incidents: "I could have shot myself or I could have carried on".[1]

On 20 April 2011, Preciado's father, also named Manuel, died after being run over in Santander.[5]"

:tremble: :tremble: :tremble: Wow what a tragic family, very sad. It would be nice to be able to believe in an afterlife when you hear about things like this, but I can't.
