Firstly I have a message for anyone who wants to see great football at Euro 2012...............enjoy watching the Netherlands or the Spanish im sure they will be very entertaining but when push comes to shove these guys wont be winning the championships

Since 1966 England have only ever reached two semi final's(90 and 96) so I couldn't give a toss how we play during the tournament although I wouldn't say our style is that horrific even if it isn't the most thrilling I'd much rather win a hard fought 1-0 than playing samba football and end up losing 4-3 in glorious failure. Watching Spain at the 2010 WC was like watching paint dry but yet people were waxing lyrical's over them but at end of the day much like Greece if you can remain solid at the back and have a team discipline where by you dont concead many goals then you have every chance of going far in the tournament but most of all I'd much rather see spirit, passion, patriotic pride and determination than good football.

I am really riled by the imbreciles on this forum who think football is all about passing it endlessly you can fuck your good football

I agree Homer in that I couldn't give a shit how England play as long as they win. We look really solid at the back atm, more so than any of the other contenders and if we can get out the group and get Wayne and Welbeck firing we have a great chance.

COME ON ENGLANDDD

I agree with a lot of the sentiment but you shouldn't be ruling teams out just because they keep possession and pass a lot. Spain are the favourites for the tournament and rightly so because they pose a threat going forward, they win the ball back quickly and high up the pitch, and they limit the opposition's chances, which in itself is a form of organisation. You seem to overlook the tactical side of the game that sides like Spain possess, it's almost like you assume their game plan is to go out, pass the ball a lot and forget about the defence.

It'll take a very naive man to exclude Spain from the list of contenders.

You said they won't win it, so you're excluding them.

Some real pub comments in this thread.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

If it wasn't a really overused expression, or if you had never heard it before, and I pulled it out of the bag, you'd fucking love it.

If the Twin Towers hadn't fallen down, they'd still be the tallest buildings in New York.
