SNEIDJER

"It will be very difficult, because for me, the Euros is more difficult than the World Cup because you don't have the teams from Africa or wherever when you know you are going to take three points," Sneijder told Reuters at their training base on Friday.

"Now it's more difficult because there are only strong teams"

Obviously the World Cup. Maybe the Euro's groups are harder, but that's even questionable.

Yeh, could have at least said "nigger teams" to add some fuel to the fire.

Argentina and Brazil are the only real threats outside of Europe to the likes of France, England, Holland, Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Uruguay and co. are decent enough but they are fairly similar in difficulty I'd say.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

You've got to take into account though how big the World Cup is. Yes, the Euro's is a big competition as well but we are talking about the biggest competition that exists in football. I can imagine the pressure to succeed and the emotions that are experienced are higher in the World Cup compared to the Euros. You win that you are crowned the best nation across the globe where as in the Euro's, it is the best nation in your continent at that specific time (obviously WR is taken into account as well).

I prefer the Champions League to the World Cup as well, but the hype built up around th World Cup and the fact it comes around once every 4 years makes it a more prestigious event in my eyes and more of a spectacle.

I think the clues in the name really.

There is always an element of luck, one European Championship campaign could be harder than one World Cup, but in general the World Cup is always going to be harder to win most of the time as there are stronger teams & more games to win.

You'll never see Greece win the World Cup. Says it all.
