It's very, very doubtful that both Hazard and Oscar will hit the ground running, not to mention they don't have a manager who has proven capable of managing those types of players very effectively.

I doubt Di Matteo will last very long, wasn't first choice and if the going gets tough they'll get rid of him quicker than you can say 'Champions of Europe'.

Chelsea are spending a fair bit but Hazard/Marin/Oscar are on far less combined wages than Drogba/Anelka/Kalou/Malouda.

Brazilian midfielder Oscar says he has had a medical with Chelsea but will wait until after the Olympics to resolve his future.

The Internacional player, 20, has been linked with a reported £25m move.

But, after playing in Brazil's 2-0 win over Team GB, he maintained he has not agreed to move to Stamford Bridge.

"I only had a meeting with the doctor, nothing else. I haven't signed any contract yet," he said when asked about the Champions League winners' interest.

"I will wait until the end of the Olympic Games to decide my future.

"All Brazilian players have this dream. I have, like everybody, the dream to play in Europe and the Premier League."

Still can't really understand why di Matteo got the job. How on earth is he gonna manage all these guys at once, they all play the same position FFS.

Winner.

Chelsea close on Moses, Azpilicueta deals

Chelsea appear to be getting closer to signing Wigan forward Victor Moses and Marseille right-back Cesar Azpilicueta.

Blues chief executive Ron Gourlay is said to have contacted Latics chairman Dave Whelan on Monday to discuss a fresh bid for Moses. Chelsea have already had a bid rejected, with Whelan said to be holding out for at least £8.5 million.

Marseille president Vincent Labrune, meanwhile, has told L'Equipe his side have received a "very serious" offer for Spaniard Azpilicueta.

He told ESPN: "I have spoken to Chelsea's chief executive and they are easy to deal with. We have told them the price and they will come back and agree it or not.

"We would much prefer the player to sign a new contract and stay but he wants to go to Chelsea and it's a good club so we cannot stand in his way."

Chelsea are also being linked with a renewed bid for Bayer Leverkusen's Andre Schuerrle having already spent almost £70m in recent months.
