Anyone who takes talksport seriously deserves to pay the £2 a minute or whatever they charge to call. The station is built around pricks like Collymore and Durham having 'controversial views 'that will wind up people enough that they call in. |

Collymore seems alright from the small amount I've heard from him. Quinny and Durham need locking up. Quinny's the Evertonion cunt right? It was on in the car the other day and some of the things being said pissed me off so much. Quinny just talks over the weak, posh twat with endless amounts of unarticulated nonsense. I'd rather watch Sunday Supplement. |

from 4pm.... trophies or money? What's more important? So eg if Everton win the FA Cup, have they had a better season than Arsenal? |

Yep, Everton would never have expected to win a cup at the start of the season, Arsenal will have hoped they would. |

Getting top four is more important and a bigger achievement to a team than winning the FA Cup. I guarantee no team would take the FA Cup over a top four finish. |

durhams show is based on winding people up, i find it quite funny, he's even doing a slot called 'the daily arsenal' just to wind arsenal fans up, ronnie irani is my favourite, despite being a united fan he doesn't get too biased unlike micky(liverpool will win the title this season)quinn, stan collymore actually speaks a lot of sense |

Agreed, but expectations at Arsenal is that they get top four every year. To attain something which is the minimum expected is less of an achievement than to get something you weren't expected to. Edited by Artrun, Apr 13 2012, 08:53 PM.

it's been done before on talksport, for me a fan, its winning a trophy everytime, top 4 is good because of the cl and you get to play top european sides, but you did before the cl started in way of the ec/uc/ecwc but these days fans are brainwashed by clubs to think top 4 is as got as a trophy, so in 20 years time i'll be saying 2009/2010 was a great season we qualified for the cl, no i won't as a fan memorable years are memorable for memorable achievements like trophys |

Shit, I completely misread the original question. Thought it was Trophies or Top Four, which is more important? Regardless, money is more important if your aim is for your club to become a consistent major force, and getting into the CL is the big money spinner for teams. So, expectations aside, Arsenal will have had a better season than Everton if they win the FA Cup and we finish top four, as it puts in a better position than them to improve the size and stature of the club. |

from the clubs point of view it will be, but as a fan surely you'd rather have a trophy, who remembers QPR of the mid 70s finishing top 2/3,how will we remember spurs qualifying for the cl in the top 4 or winning a possible fa cup this season remember too that although the cl brings in a fair bit of cash, a big club will bring in much more in other business areas |

But getting CL football could hugely affect a club's future. The difference between getting CL and missing out could be massive for Tottenham this season. In 10 years time they could be a midtable team again because they couldn't build on their recent success and attract/keep top players. Looking back on an FA Cup win is no consolation for being average again. |

from a financial prospective yes, but how many fans care about finances, they pay highly inflated ticket prices with the prospect of nothing the cheer, when spurs were celebrating after qualifying a few seasons back after they pipped city really made me cringe, finances can be obtained by other avenues liverpool haven't suffered in being able to buy players despite their absense from the cl |
