Irrelevant. Scholes overrates Nani massively. This has nothing to do with Jose Reyes.

Out of interest, who do you think had/has the better technical ability of the two?

At one stage I thought Reyes was going to become just as good as Henry he was absolutely phenomenal during his first 9 months at the club :wank: I will always be haunted by the fact Reyes never made it at Arsenal. At least he wins the award for being the most attractive player to have ever graced the Arsenal shirt.

He looked fantastic at the start but he never showed anything to suggest he was going to get to Henrys level ffs, he should have done better at Arsenal than he did but he wasnt going to eclipse the likes of Freddie and Pires, let alone Henry

Jose Antonio Reyes says he has only fond memories of his Arsenal days.

The Spaniard spent three years in north London after joining from Sevilla in 2004 and his career has now gone full circle after a return to his boyhood team in January.

Reyes made a flying start to his Arsenal spell, winning the title and the FA Cup. Ultimately he did not fulfil his true potential at Highbury but the Club will always have a place in his heart.

“I have nothing but positive and happy memories of that time,” he told the Official Arsenal Magazine. “I follow their matches whenever I have time and I always hope the best for them.

“At the time I joined it was really exciting, one of those experiences where you pinch yourself to make sure it’s actually happening to you. It was a big step to take at that time but my family and girlfriend supported me a lot.

“I felt happy and flattered about Arsenal’s interest, and I left Spain to go and win titles with them, which I achieved - but it was a big leap.

“I have to say that everybody was very, very helpful, and not just the players and the staff at the Club. I found the people in England to be very kind.”

Reyes endeared himself to the Arsenal faithful early on, playing his part in the ‘Invincibles’ season of 2003/04 with crucial goals against Portsmouth and Fulham at the end of the campaign. It's a season the 28-year-old will never forget.

“I did not realise it so much at the time but after the job was done I started to realise that I, we, were part of football history and that we had written ourselves into the history books,” he said.

“I think all of us who were part of it treasure that particular season. The intensity of the emotions was incredible.

“At times like that, you feel proud and self-confident. You feel you are doing a good job. You feel happy, you feel strong. And you feel you took the right step in your career.”

The fact Jose Reyes left Arsenal so soon is one of my all time biggest regrets I absolutely adored him not only as a player but as a person too he was simply unique. I will never forget his debut in the FA Cup against Chelsea and the impact he made in his first year he adapted on the pitch so quickly although sadly he never climatized to England. He carried his form into into 04/05 and becoming the first player to score in 6 consecutive matches at the beginning of the season and he was playing with so much happiness. However the evilness of G.Neville and Man Utd pretty much destroyed Reyes and although he had his moments I dont believe he was ever the same again its a world filled with injustices. The fact Reyes is now 28 just shows how quickly time flashes by but he will always have a place in my heart and I will continue to wish him all the best for the future.

Juntos en armonia
That's nice because I'm still having nightmares about the fucker.
Quote from the GOONBOT

FA Cup final is the same day as the Copa Del Rey final. I hope I don't have to miss Arsenal.

The first memory of Reyes is when Arsenal played us in the Community Shield i think it was, and he took it round the keeper and hit it into the side netting. May have been his debut actually. I'm sure Scholes will clarify.

Yep spot on, watched it round my nan's as it was on BBC. One was a 26 yard screamer into the top left corner, the other a fairly straight forward finish after good work from Vieira I believe.
Scholes

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

No it was against Man City. Funny how we all thought it was against Chelsea though. Certainly the match where he made a name for himself in England.
