I don't know why people are expecting so much from Guardiola, he's utterly unproven outside his little bubble in Barcelona. Not saying he won't be a success but it's quite strange how it's just assumed that he'll be a hit.

Winner.

Haha imagine next season kicking off with Mourinho as City's manager and Guardiola as Utd's manager!
I'd prefer it the other way round

Mourinho documentary on ITV4 tonight, 10pm btw. Gonna be class, I love watching documentaries on Mourinho. I saw a Portuguese one (English subs) the other day on ESPN, it was so good, there isn't one person who's ever worked with him that has a bad word to say about him. As far as I'm concerned he's the best manager of all time and he's probably only about half way through his career, his methods are flawless, I love the work he puts into his sides.

There's no real guarantees for any manager, especially when taking the reigns of an elite club that wants big trophies every season. Mourinho would of course have an edge over Guardiola as he's fully proven himself in various leagues and most importantly the Premier League. But the potential is there for both men to be a massive success wherever they go.

Guardiola has tested himself against the best of what England and Italy have to offer in the CL and on the whole he's passed with flying colours. I'd say he has a good understanding of how these team play, the different flavours of football you will see across the continent's top leagues. He would have to to completely nullify most of these teams threats as his Barca side had done.

He has shown he has an amazing rapport with his players, just like Mourinho, and his English is pretty good which would help him establish this connection quickly and effectively. Like Mourinho he seems to pay a lot of attention to detail and I'm sure he'd scrub up on his English further if he was on the verge of working in England. He wouldn't want to be severely handicapped coming into a new country. World class managers such as Capello, Scolari and Ancelotti have found this out the hard way.

Lucky I didn't put last year's Christmas wage packet on it.

FA Cup final is the same day as the Copa Del Rey final. I hope I don't have to miss Arsenal.

Don't understand why any United fan would want Mourinho, it's fucking sacrilegious. SAF is better than Mourinho in pretty much all aspects of management, and his health is very good. He can easily continue for several more years.
