Spurs announce that Sherwood will be replaced in the summer.

Used to really like Spurs, and still do a little bit to be fair, but it's turning into a circus of a club. I hope they just pick a good manager and give him a couple of seasons. It is debatable whether the way Spurs and Chelsea do things is right, or if you should just give a manager time even if he's not the right man. But I think Spurs really need some stability, get someone in and let him shape the side.

It's going to take an awesome manager to clear up this mess and get them competing for top 4 again, such poor balance in the squad and so much dead-wood as well. Tough decisions regarding who to cut your losses and who to stick with, and then there's the small matter of bringing in the players needed. I'm guessing it's Van Gaal who will be faced with that task.

I don't think there's one player in their defence that's actually any good for starters.

Chiriches is pretty good from what I've seen.

Yeah, I like the look of Chiriches. He seems a proper defender.

On the new manager, obviously Laudrup will be heavily tipped. But I think Pochettino would be an ideal man to bring in. I get the feeling he's ready to ditch Southampton as soon as a good job comes around. He'll have Spurs playing the high-tempo stuff that suits them best, but he'll also help establish the foundations for such a side with a good, sturdy defence.

Yeh forgot about him, the rest aren't anything to shout about though.

I've got a feeling Pochettino will be offered the Barca job next season, especially if they end the season trophy-less. Would Poch actually swap Southampton for Spurs btw? Spurs have a better squad but at Southampton he'll be more valued by the club and already knows the players, I can see him staying him at Southampton and waiting for a bigger job to turn up, Spurs aren't as attractive a prospect as they were a couple of years ago.

It would be a good level of club for him to continue his development as a manager, which will inevitably take him to a club like Barcelona. But also a very risky one. While many managers would find Spurs a very attractive prospect, the way they dispose of managers won't be. In many ways I'd agree if he were to dodge any approach from them. But maybe Levy will finally realise that while he's doing a lot of good for Spurs, investing heavily etc., he's making a mess out of the club and it's time to really build something and commit to a project.

Chiriches is brilliant. Pochettino would be a good shout but it appears that Van Gaal will get the job.

Tottenham with Pochettino, Lovren and Shaw would be a half decent team

"Sacked", for real this time. No idea why they gave him a contract until the end of next season, they were always gonna get rid now.

Looks like De Boer and Poch are the front-runners. I think Pochettino would be the better appointment personally, proven himself in the big leagues.

Sherwood did a good job.

Spurs were so consistent this season.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart
