I've had numerous moments since the end of the season when I've realised I'll never get to watch the majesty of Scholes on form again, I'm so upset he's retired :( .

He probably regretted sayign these things when he was being talked about as a possible squad member this summer

After going about 7 years without international football by choice, i doubt he would regret one more - especially considering he's pretty much admitted he thinks the England team is a joke, why would he want to be a part of it?
