Samir Nasri has been banned from driving after his car was clocked speeding three times. Nasri was originally convicted in June but this was overturned after he signed a declaration saying he was unaware his Mercedes had been caught on camera. Police then began a fresh investigation and on Tuesday the France international admitted three offences of failing to provide the identity of a driver. Tameside magistrates fined Nasri, 25, £2,100 and gave him a six-month ban. Nasri's car was caught on camera travelling above the speed limit three times in 2011. WHEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

![]() John Cross explains why some of Nasri's comments on French television don't quite add up, and who to trust... Samir old story? Why Arsenal fans should ignore Nasri and trust Wenger will spend big this summer ![]() Arsenal fans have spent the best part of two years slagging off Samir Nasri. They have called him a traitor and disloyal - and those are some of the kinder insults. They have never forgiven him for leaving Arsenal to join Manchester City. It got very nasty and very personal. And yet those same Arsenal fans who would probably say they wouldn't trust Nasri as far as they could throw him, suddenly changed their tune when he did an interview on French TV on Monday. Nasri claimed it was Arsenal's majority shareholder Stan Kroenke who forced his £21m sale because he "wanted the money."Billionaire Kroenke hardly needs the money - even that sum would be small change for him. And yet the same Arsenal fans - some of whom threatened Nasri when he was walking to the Emirates earlier in the season (see the NSFW video below) - suddenly believed every word he said. In fact, they jumped on the Frenchman's words and used them as a stick to beat Kroenke with. Call me naive, but who has been better to Arsenal? The guy who has pumped money into the club or the player who left because, in his words, City had a better team? Arsenal refute Nasri's version of events. The midfielder only had one year left, City were offering big money and Arsene Wenger, who had promised not to sell Cesc Fabregas and Nasri in the same summer, sold them both. There are two sides to every story but I'm inclined to believe Arsenal on this one. In fact, from everything I know, it was Wenger who had the final say. Nasri's claim was raised before, debated and denied by the board. Wenger is careful with his budget and if there is one man at the club who would be loathed to turn down £21m and allow him to leave for free just 12 months later then it is the Arsenal manager. ![]() Wenger: "A manager who checks the bank balance before buying or selling" Wenger is a rare breed in football: a manager who checks the bank balance before buying or selling. And he gets castigated for it. Only in football are you criticised for being responsible. Don't get me wrong, I hate that expression among fans: "it was a good deal for the club." People still pedal that on Twitter. Robin van Persie was sold for £24m with just a year left on his contract. How can any sort of self respecting fan genuinely believe that selling the club's best player can be good for business? And yet some do. Put down your scarves and pick up your spreadsheets! These are football fans, but not as I know it. Wenger can make that sort of judgement, but maybe that's why those Arsenal fans jumped on Nasri's words. They don't want to blame the manager. They want to blame someone else. Wenger had the final say, though. Arsenal have had to balance the books. Now, however, it is different. This summer there will be serious money to spend. And I believe Wenger will spend it. He wants to spend it. Arsenal need a new keeper, centre half, central midfielder and striker and Fiorentina's Stevan Jovetic and Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes are of the sort of calibre of player they are in for. ![]() "Me?": Yes, you Stevan Jovetic, you are in Arsenal's sights Which brings me onto another debate: there are some so-called fans who actually post on Twitter or write blogs about how it would be best if Arsenal finish outside of the top four because it would be the wake-up call the club needs. What sort of fan would really want that? It's like some Aston Villa fans saying relegation would be good as it would allow them to rebuild for the future. Do me a favour. On the final day of the season, every fan involved in a scrap against relegation or battle for top four will be willing their club to win. Those Arsenal fans who claim it would be good to finish fifth or sixth will be on their knees praying for the victory at Newcastle that could lift them above Spurs and into the top four. Anyone who says they will want their team to lose should stop calling themselves a fan. It's all about the glory. That's what it should be about. It's why eight years without a trophy so upsets Arsenal fans. It's a magnificent achievement to finish in the top four each and every year. To progress to the Champions League knock out stage year after year is remarkable. Before home games, Arsenal show some historical moments on the big screen. There's Charlie George in the 1971 FA Cup final, Tony Adams clinching the title and Michael Thomas scoring at Anfield. Magical moments that delivered silverware. Not a guy holding up a spreadsheet in triumph at the latest set of financial figures. Wenger knows that. The chief executive Ivan Gazidis knows that. They'll be doing their best to address that this summer. Ignore Nasri. He has got his own agenda. Arsenal have sold players in the past because it made financial sense. Wenger admitting he sold RvP after a phone call from Fergie was a spectacular PR own goal. It happened, but don't admit it. But Arsenal now have the funds to resist big offers. They also have the funds to buy big and bring back the glory. This season has been a wake-up call already and Wenger already knows that he must rebuild even if Arsenal do make the top four. Nasri is one of the biggest wankers the game has ever seen and if Man City had any common sense or decency they would get rid of him this summer. John Cross has well and truly put this cunt in his place. |

my badposted that vid because i thought it was interesting to see things the french national team did during their training sessions. i also found it a bit funny how clichy seemed to have trouble sometimes when it was played to his feet and he wasn't using his head i thought the oezil vid was goofy in that that whole scrap looked awkward as fuck, oezil pushing benzema's 'opponent' and benzema pushing oezil's. the criss-cross fashion of it just made it look weird also, found the lack of fear they had for benzema a bit funny. no matter what they kept bullying him, not giving a fuck, no respect. i imagined someone like zlatan pushing opponents like that and them then stepping the fuck down. benzema would push and they weren't scared at all, would come back at him once or twice not giving a fuck. poor lad |

Ant, what's Man City's starting 11 if everyone is fit. Unlike most teams, I have no idea what your best 11 will be. Plenty combinations and formations. Enlighten me. |
