When he starts dictating games, consistently making game-defining passes and scoring around 5 goals a season as Xavi and Iniesta and their near-equivalents have been doing this year then you can start calling him world class if you must.
He does dictate games.

There are no CMs who are world class other than Xavi or Iniesta? Please do fuck off lmao. Absolute bellend.
"and their near-equivalents"
There are no near equivalents to Xavi and Iniesta. And if you meant Schweinsieter lol @ you.

I'd say Alonso and Schweiny were certainly up there, and if we broadened out the criteria a bit we could include the likes of Ozil and Cesc too.

Except Wilshere is better than Schweinsteiger. We've not even mentioned Michael fucking Essien.

You're not qualified to make a valid statement on whether Schweinsteiger is world class or not frankly because you don't watch Bundesliga.

World class means you're one of the very best players in the world in your position. End of.
Define "one of". Because that could mean top 5 CMs, top 10 CMs etc etc.

Its all up for personal interpretation. But if I had to make a definitive world class list I'd have many more CMs on that list than GKs.

when i went to get lunch we were having a semi intellectual debate about what makes a player world class and over what period does form become class. then i returned to dag arguing wilshere is in the same world class bracket as xavi and iniesta and i lol'd.

Nope, not at all. Wilshere is a once in a life time type CM. He single handedly held our midfield together at Emirates while Cesc and Song were on walk about. MOTM in a game which boasted the likes of Xavi, Messi, Iniesta, etc.

I trust Clayton's judgement. I never saw Maradona play but I'm allowed to say that he was the best player of his generation.

I'm not denying your right to make your own judgements...Fair enough if Ant said it, though DaGunners is in the same boat as you.
