But I don't see what he did that Xavi and Iniesta aren't bettering at this moment in time. Xavi and Iniesta are a joy to behold, their touch is unreal.

I watch every single Barcelona game and any fan of football that doesn't bother should be ashamed of themselves, because you've got the chance to witness the best team of all-time and we should be savouring every moment of it before it comes to an end.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Yep, entirely agree. This season I've really appreciated Barcelona and have made a far greater effort to watch and savour them. I'm going to make sure that I see this Barca side at Camp Nou as soon as possible, probably this easter. Best team of all-time.

Xavi is a totally different player. Iniesta yes, similar players, both extremely talented but Zidane produced what Iniesta does but included more out of this world moments that Iniesta couldn't dream of. Iniesta couldn't dream of the CL winning volley vs Leverkusen. The difference between a world class player and a greatest of all time player is the defining moments of sheer brilliance, Zidane has proved his, now we wait for Iniesta to do the same.

WC 2006. Xavi nor Iniesta have single-handedly dragged Spain or Barcelona to the WC Final or CL final in the same way Zidane dragged France to the WC Final that year.

Tbh, this is a shit thread. It's a shit comparison. One is an attacking midfielder, whilst the other is a deep-lying playmaker.

Iniesta I dunno about. I suspect he plays further up the field.

The shit you've spouted DaG when it comes to Zidane is unreal. Anything that concerns the great man you should stay out of it.

BECAUSE TOTTI HAS SCORED X GOALS, LAUDRUP - Going through the Laudrup phase before swiftly moving onto MvB - HAS SCORED 2X GOALS, ZIDANE HAS SCORED SO FEW GOALS. *Laughter continues*. GUYS STOP PLEASE. :hysterics: :hysterics: :hysterics:

From what I seen of him, Laudrup was right up there with Zidane. He doesn't have as many big defining moments but fuck me he was a serious player with ability you can only be in awe of. The way he used to switch feet and go around players like Messi does now was class, a trademark of his.

Seen more of Zidane though so I'd have to rank him higher but I've seen quite a few full games with Laudrup, one where he was at Real Madrid and was the chief instigator in them battering Barca's 'Dream Team' 5-0, around 1995 I think this was.

Lol incidentally I was reading up on him:, here's two decent articles-

Very high praise from Raul indeed considering the all-time greats he has played with. The factor that he was Danish plays a big role in why his name isn't regularly put up "there".
