this has got to be the tightest and most exciting season in the prem so far anyone seems capable of beating any one
is it because
the top team have became shite i.e lost quality?
the smaller teams gettin better and closing the gap?
a bit of both?

The French League is actually the tightest.

The 'smaller' teams are getting better.

Remember it almost always starts off like this and then by the end massive gaps have appeared. Upsets become less frequent as the season goes on and squad strength comes more into play.

There will be some upsets at the weekend. Glad we are playing a big club and not a smaller one.

Second bottom in France is only eight points off top spot.

the bigger teams are getting shitter. none of them look a force and a few of the better teams arent playing anywhere near as good as they can either.

I'm not sure if it's late enough to call it the tightest league. What have we played 12-13 games? The league is often very tight from places 1-8 and 12-20 and I've seen it just as close as it is now at the bottom well past the halfway point which to be honest is when the league starts taking shape.

I think there's already a high chance that the current top 4 will be the same in May and sides like Wigan and Wolves down in the bottom 6 and again I think the relegated clubs will come from those bottom 6 clubs who are already in their rightful place.

I wonder how this season actually compares with others, I don't see anything amazingly close about it all. I think the champions will have 85+ points, sides like Liverpool and Everton will probably finish top 5-8. Same old story really.

I agree on that part, but I do think the lower teams have improved a lot.
