The agent of PSV midfielder Ibrahim Afellay has revealed that the Eindhoven club and Barcelona have agreed terms for the January transfer of the playmaker via his company's website Sport Promotion Consultancy.

After weeks of speculation regarding a deal, the two clubs have apparently settled on a price for the 24-year-old, though he admits the Dutch international has not yet agreed to personal terms with the Blaugrana and that will not happen immediately.

"That [agreeing personal terms] is definitely going to take some time," explained Rob Jansen.

"There is certainly no final agreement. When the time comes we will notify the media and the fans through our website."

Recently speaking on the subject, Afellay admitted that a move to join Lionel Messi and company was close, but also explained that there were still some things that needed to be ironed out.

"I am honoured by the interest of a big club like Barcelona and of course I am willing to make the switch in January. But not everything is finalised, it's an ongoing process. We can't speak of an agreement yet, I wait patiently on that matter," he told the press.

It now seems a certainty the player, who was in the Dutch squad for both EURO 2008 and the 2010 World Cup, will be wearing a Barcelona shirt in the new year.

Would've preferred Pastore, but at least he's young and we need more creative options in midfield so not a bad signing I suppose.

Winner.

Why would you want to waste money on Pastore? He wouldn't get a game at Barca. I suppose it'd be depth but Barca need to watch their spending.

One of Liverpools physios knew about this a few days ago. He updated his twitter something along the lines of: Hope theres plenty of room beside Mascherano on the Barca bench for Afellay.

Success is winning championships. It is nothing less than that. And when you win a championship - and we will - success isn't measured or accomplished by winning once.
