Wolves defender Jody Craddock has defended the club over criticism about their style of play.

Mick McCarthy's side have been labelled as being over aggressive in their approach by some this season.

Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy controversially claimed last month that some managers, including McCarthy, send their players out 'so pumped up there is inevitably going to be problems'.

The comments provoked great debate in the footballing world and Craddock admits the criticism aimed in Wolves' direction was hard to take.

Craddock has rejected the claims that Wolves are a dirty side and insists there no malicious element in their approach.

"The criticism of our approach was hard to accept," Craddock told skysports.com at an event promoting EA SPORTS FIFA 11 Ultimate Team.

"We played every game in the Championship in a tough and battling way and that is how we have always played.

"There is not one vicious player in our squad.

"Unfortunately some things have happened but no one sets out to injure another player.

"No one wants to get sent off as it means you miss games and it is hard to get back into the team them.

"It also means a fine from the club and no one wants that

"We play to win games and football is an intense sport."

Backing
Meanwhile, Craddock has backed team-mate Karl Henry to bounce back from the barrage of criticism he received for his sending off against Wigan.

Henry's discipline has come under scrutiny following his dismissal for a foul on Jordi Gomez, but Craddock insists the midfielder can cope with any adverse reaction that comes his way.

"Karl's quite a level-headed player and he will brush aside any criticism aimed at him," added Craddock.

"Karl is experienced enough to deal with that and he will not be affected by it.

"He can't change as a player and he shouldn't change as he is hard-working player who makes tackles."

Jody Craddock is promoting EA SPORTS FIFA 11 Ultimate Team, now free-to-play on Xbox Live. Take on the challenge of building a squad of the world's best football stars by earning, buying, selling and trading players with other Ultimate Team gamers around the world

ive seen united play wolves live 4 times in past 2 seasons and can't remember a dirty challenge by any of their players, think the press have hyped them up to be dirty on the back of a few challenges in certain games

Yep, I don't think they're a bad side at all. Arsenal are far worse.

Insert brain before posting. Only 1 of the 4 cards are for violent play.

We've played you once and we weren't dirty at all in that match. No clue what you're on about.
