Michael Ballack; Schweinsteiger would suit Manchester United

Michael Ballack feels Bastian Schweinsteiger would suit Manchester United should he chose to leave Bayern Munich.

Schweinsteiger was one of the stars of last summer's World Cup and his contract with Bayern expires in 2012.

Ballack, 34, left the German giants for Chelsea in 2006 before returning to his homeland this year for a second stint with Bayer Leverkusen.

And although he believes Bayern's ambitions could still be big enough to keep hold of Schweinsteiger, he has backed the 26-year-old midfielder to succeed at another of Europe's elite clubs such as United or Real Madrid should he chose to try his luck abroad.

Reaching his peak
"He has taken on the responsibility placed in him and is now in a phase when he is looking to reach the zenith of his career," Ballack told Kicker magazine.

"He took a huge step forwards at the World Cup. He has presence, authority, personality, performance and goals - he has everything.

"Only he will be able to feel what is right for him for the future.

"Of course, every footballer is attracted to certain things and Bastian will feel these also. But there are not that many big clubs around and Bayern is one of them.

"On the other hand, Real or Man United are both attractive and he would fit in well at both clubs."

Madrid wouldn't go for him and I don't think United would either. (for different reasons obviously)

AC Milan would be the best fit.

Why do you think neither would go for him?

Not needed at Madrid. As for United, don't think they have the money, could be wrong though.

lmao why does everybody think we dont have anything to spend. trust me if fergie wanted to bid £60m on a player the glazers will fund it. he wont come because SAF has wenger syndrome.

The perfect signing, nothing else I want from next summer's transfer window. Go get him Ferguson.

Yeah I would fucking love it if he signed. He's a top notch midfielder and just what we need. I think he'd love to join Utd but I fear that Chelsea or Milan, as DaG says, will probably get him in the end.
