Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is threatening a post-match media blackout if they charge him for his outspoken attack on referee Mark Clattenburg. It is believed the FA will make a decision on Tuesday whether to examine Redknapp's criticism of Clattenburg in the wake of Tottenham's controversial Premier League defeat at Manchester United on Saturday. Redknapp said on Monday of the prospect of being charged: "If they want to make an issue of what I said then I'll make some issues as well - don't worry. "Don't expect me to come out on the TV anymore - ever - and speak to the press after a game. "Otherwise, what chance have we got? "If you want me just to come and talk rubbish and say, 'No, it was a good decision, I'm quite happy with it', then don't bother to get me to come out after a game." He added: "We shouldn't be dragged out onto TV two, three, four minutes after a game. "I don't want to go on TV; I'd much rather stay in the dressing room with the players - but when I'm asked a question, I give a truthful answer. "He made a right mess of it all, and that was my answer. And I stand by that 100 per cent." It is understood Redknapp's latest outburst will have no bearing on the FA's decision to investigate his earlier comments. The irate Spurs boss still could not understand Clattenburg's decision almost 48 hours on from the incident. He said: "I think Mark knows he made a mistake; I think he knows I know that he knows that he dealt with it not very well at the time." Yet, Redknapp was uncertain referees should be forced to come out and explain their controversial decisions publicly. "I didn't even go and ask the referee what happened on Saturday," he added. "I didn't want to go knocking on his door; I didn't go and chase him on the pitch and shout and scream at him." |

Good on him, but no doubt he'll get fined and get a touchline ban. He is right in what he is saying if they dont want his honest opinions then what's the point of an interview? |

Lol, I doubt he would ever do it. Still the ref fucking deserves it. Its not like most times people get fined when the ref is makes a decision becuase the twat wasn't even looking and then he still overuled the decision of someone who was! |

He's dead right as well. Referees should have to face the music when they make a shocking decision. No manager should ever get banned or fined for a justifiable comment on the ref's performance. So what if they interpret it as questioning the integrity of the ref. Don't they do that to players when they think he's taken a dive and then book him. |

Take Saturday's incident for example. The ref had a shocker. Look at him when he gives the goal and he's fucking shrugging his shoulders like the clueless cunt he is. He should be grilled for that. In almost every profession you will be warned over making stupid errors, refs are no different. I'm absolutely sick of these cunts. I know they have a hard job but when they make mistakes they should face up to it. These mistakes matter a hell of a lot more to the teams that are affected. Managers are well within their right to speak their mind, the standard of refereeing is a big issue in today's game and if managers are banned for speaking the truth just because it might hurt Mr. Clattenburg's feelings well when will it ever stop. Pansies the lot of 'em. |

I'd imagine the referees are blasted by the FA in a private meeting. If you do something wrong at work, you don't get blasted infront of your entire workforce, you'd get dragged into the managers office and they'd have a word with you. The fact is, referees do an undesirable job and will always make mistakes, just as players do, so as much as I despise them at times, it's just part of the game you have to accept. |

Yeah I understand what you're saying but all Harry did was speak the truth about something everyone seen anyways. Harry's team was directly affected by this decision and he obviously will feel passionately about what was a shocking piece of refereeing. I hope they do get grilled in private meeting but I suspect they're not. I mean the cunt shrugged his shoulder showing that he clearly didn't know what to do and then had the cheek to overrule the linesman who got it right. He only has himself to blame, I have absolutely zero sympathy for him. If I made a mistake on the job I, like Clattenburg would be given an earful in private by my superior but the client would have no problem embarrassing me in front of everyone and why should they? It's they who are affected most by it, just like Harry and his team were. |

Well you're not likely to receive death threats for starters

Yeah I suppose. The consequences are far too serious with football and some of the scum that carry out death threats because their team was hard done by. But tbh that sort of thing can happen in any walk of life. It's not really Harry's fault that there's some scummy cunts supporting his club and they didn't issue a death threat because of what Harry said it was the mistake itself. It all falls back on Clattenburg's shoulders, he made the mistake, now he has to deal with it. He had 2 minutes to listen to his assistant but he chose not to. Fuck him. |

seems everyones blaming the ref, the culprit was the keeper, he wanted a free kick which hadnt been given, had he just played on like most would, this wouldnt even be talked about, the ref can't just give a free kick coz gomez wanted one, just like he didnt give a pen when nani was tugged in the same incident |
