Yes he was. Was better than Xavi against Bayern, Chelsea, and United and was class throughout the season. Xavi was however better than Iniesta last season. But this season Iniesta has been better.

Anyway I'm off, gonna get some chocolate before class.

Xavi rightly recieved MOTM in the final. He was better than Iniesta in that game. I'll give you the Chelsea game though. Also you've just mentioned 3 games lol, doesn't mean a great deal when there was a whole season played.

:laughcry: That was class, I don't. I think if he turns into the player he is looking like becoming then I think he can become as good but I was on the wind up. Worked so well too, stoped replying to me :hysterics:

When Scholes talks about Ronaldo being overrated by those who don't know football, he is kind of right. Ronaldo is not one for the purists. He gives the ball away more than most world class players, he is not subtle, when he's on the ball you don't get a sense of assurance. But the incredible thing is, all these seeming inadequacies are lost behind a bewildering combination of power, speed and goals. People play football in different ways, and Ronaldo's way is never going to be popular with possession merchants like Goonie and Scholes, but the fact that the lad is still rated top 5 in the world despite apparent deficiencies is tribute to his out and out ruthless irresistibility.

He has a certain je ne sais quoi which RVN never had. All RVN had was ruthless finishing, if there was a chance he'd snatch it but he rarely made something out of nothing, CR7/9 makes things happen even when he shouldn't be.

RVN was much more than just a ruthless finisher, he was probably the most intelligent striker to have ever played the game. Movement, hold up, timing of runs, direction of runs, control, finishing, heading all out of this world.

Inzaghi was the most intelligent striker of that generation.

I wouldn't, and neither would any top football manager. Ronaldo is the man, has pretty much everything you want from an attacker. Scores a shit ton, strong, pacey, runs at people, massive bollocks, and works harder than everyone.
Co-sign...

Two different players. Ronaldo, all things considered, is the better player. He's got a lot more to his game and his goalscoring ability was just as good as van Nistelrooy's.

Ruud is the better goalscorer IMO. His instincts were that little bit sharper than Cristiano's and he's a better finisher, more clinical. Although Ruud doesn't really offer much of a threat outside the box, judging by how the vast majority of his goals were scored, it'd be unfair to go in Ronaldo's favour for that reason. That's just not Ruud's forte.
