He's good at finishing from the right but it's so much easier for a right footer to score from the left where you can shape it around the keeper, I want to see what he can do from there a bit more.

TBH Walcott is showing he can do all the finishes. He can go across the keeper pretty well, he's good straight on goal, he can curl the ball, and his left foot is quite decent too. Also, there's no reason why he can't swap wings during games. Wouldn't be against seeing him get a game on the left though, Nasri is best on the right.

Walcott burst onto the scene at Southampton from the left did he not?

Success is winning championships. It is nothing less than that. And when you win a championship - and we will - success isn't measured or accomplished by winning once.

I'd still like Theo to get a chance as the main striker to see how he would do. I am not saying ahead of Chamakh/RVP that would be crazy but in a domestic competition or if we win tonight in one of the two remaining games in our group as we'd be through. I think he would do well there.

As DaG says he's fine where he is. Players like Messi, Ronaldo & Villa have scored a lot of goals from playing out wide and just making runs, with the current formation it works pretty well for him, especially considering Chamakh & VP come out wide loads

Walcott on the left, Chamakh in the centre, Nasri on the right. Wenger should try this at the weekend, especially as Chamakh drifts to the left naturally and that will allow Walcott to come inside.

Nein, he was a striker in a 442 from what I remember. Obviously he favored the left side of the pitch.

Also, I'd expect Walcott's production to go up when RvP is back in the side. When RvP drops deep he takes a CB with him, Theo can destroy the space left in behind just as he did vs Blackburn. I could see us creating many goals like that. If the CB stays in his place RvP will have more time on the ball to turn and then do something from there.

Chamakh pulls the entire defensive line further out than RVP does, because if they stay too deep his aerial presence and ability to hold the ball up causes them major issues.

Chamakh pushes the defensive line back, RvP can bring them out of position. When RvP is playing our forward line is much better IMO, when Chamakh is playing Cesc will have a bit more space.

Overall Chamakh hasn't shown us anything that should make him our #1 striker. I never expected him to though, and he's given us exactly what I thought he would. van Persie is our #1 striker and will reclaim his place after he has some minutes under his belt. He won't mind being a super sub again for awhile.

Obviously RVP will take his place, but personally I don't think him being there in place of Chamakh will have much effect on Theo's effectiveness. I think both of them suit Theo well.

Walcott was very good when he played on the left for a short spell, much better than Nasri...
