Shakhtar Donetsk defender Darijo Srna insists that Arsenal are better than Barcelona at the moment.

The Ukrainian club travel to play the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium in a Champions League game between the two sides.

Shakhtar have played Barca twice in the last two seasons - in the Champions League and the European Super Cup - and the defender believes that their current opponents are a cut above the Catalan crop.

"They are a very quick squad whose offensive players are really strong and aggressive," Srna told The Sun. "I would say they are performing even better than FC Barcelona now.

"But we are also a good squad with strong players. Shakhtar always create lots of attacks but, perhaps, there will be less offensive action here in London."

I must say, I can see where he is coming from.

Lukasz Fabianksi has spoken of his growing confidence at Arsenal despite admitting that he cannot avoid speculation about the goalkeeping situation at the club.

The Polish understudy and Arsenal No.1 Manuel Almunia have faced continual criticism about their suitability for Arsene Wenger’s team.

But Fabianski, who made a crucial save from Luiz Adriano in Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday when his side were 2-0 ahead, says he can cope with the pressure.

“Arsenal is such a massive club there are always going to be talk like that,” said Fabianski, who stood in again last night for the injured Almunia. “You can never run away from that. For me the main thing was always to keep working hard and improving and when there is a possibility to play, I am ready and to play the best I can. That is the only thing I can do.

“To be honest I feel really confident on the pitch. I’m happy that at the moment I have had a small run of four games in a row. It is always good for a keeper that he plays and then hopefully I can maintain that.”

Arsenal have one foot in the knock-out stages of the Champions League after chalking up their third consecutive comfortable group victory, extending their goal tally in this season’s competition to 14.

But Fabianski warned: “We have obviously a few away games and we still have to be on our toes. We focus on the next game because we haven’t won the group yet.

“We are all happy that [Cesc Fabregas and Theo Walcott] are fit again. They give us such a massive boost. The squad is growing in numbers and hopefully the next players will be fit soon again.”

He has played well recently. I hope he keeps his place and carries on as he has :) Started his career with us quite well and then a few blunders clearly fucked up his confidence. Getting it back though :D

If Nasri doesn't resign, then I think it's fair to say that, Arsenal will be out of the top four.
