Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
No, it's because you can't afford to spend big fees and wages on big players, because of the debt. The fact you think you were in the running for Villa is hilarious.
we can afford to spend big, only 2 years ago we broke our own transfer record. 3 years ago we spent over £60m in one summer on nani, anderson and hargreaves. you must be on a wind up to think we dont have any financial muscle.
Thank you.

Yeah ok you arn't in debt, you've spent loads bringing in top players, including most of the Ronaldo money on Valencia. I'm sure Bebe was Fergies first choice target in the summer.

We are in debt, we are spending pointless money on interests. Yet, we have the transfer funds, we DO have the funds to attract the likes of Villa, Sneijder et al to the club. But why we don't spend money? Sir Alex Ferguson. And tbh he is partly right, how can it be economically viable for the club (given the aforementioned problems) to compete with a club who are paying Emmanuel Ade-fucking-bayor near £150,000? Chelsea who are paying Frank Arnesen £2.25 million a year, and that's after having to pay up £8 million in compensation?

In Ferguson's words, and I do, more often than not, agree with "there is no value in the market"

Bollocks Zeezoo, no way you could afford to spunk £30m on one player and another £6m a year on wages.

so his answer for top players being over priced is not buy any and let them all go to our rivals. it naive to think that the prices will ever come down with chelsea, city and madrid spending money like its going to rot. its all well and good trusting youngsters but they need experienced QUALITY to help them develop in training and on the pitch. it raises the standard of football that is required to be a regular and will only benefit the club. the old guard do provide wise words for the kids to follow but what good is it if they cant inspire the kids to improve on the pitch through competition.

in this aspect fergie is wrong, and maybe just maybe wazza has a point.

New UEFA rules i.e. Chelsea have eased up on their spending recently.

we are in a very similar financial state to when we spent £32m on berbatov, so to say we are no longer in a position to spend over £30m on one player is wrong.

btw we are arguing that we have the ability to spend big but there is only SAF can control that. if SAF wanted to we can sign a player in excess of £40m. to doubt that is just wishful thinking.

"I can confirm a number of meetings have taken place today, including with the player's representative. The outcome of those meetings will become clear in the near future"

United have made an offer, and it looks like the scumbag is willing to take it seriously.
