Utd have only themselves to blame, look at their signings this summer. Zero ambition to wrestle the title back. Most of your best players are old, no one looks capable of replacing them. Rooney handed in a transfer request 2 years before the end of his contract, he also kept it quiet. Don't see why all Utd fans are turning on him tbh, your club is on the way down.
The Glazers ambitions are said to be the reason he wants out.

This United side is perfectly capable of winning back the PL. Anyone who thinks otherwise is, quite frankly, wrong. We got within one point of it last year and the side has the potential to be stronger this time around. With Rooney leaving things become far less optimistic. It just seems a bit wet.

And as if Rooney could possibly understand what the implications of the Glazers' ownership of United are. If that's the reason for his departure then he really is a braindead fucker.

He might not be the smartest person around but he isn't blind either. While City are out buying Silva and Balotelli, Utd are buying Bebe and Smalling. How does recognising that the club is showing no ambition and looks like it could very well be on the slide, make him braindead?

Success is winning championships. It is nothing less than that. And when you win a championship - and we will - success isn't measured or accomplished by winning once.

Because the point is that we aren't on the slide really. Things may eventually turn that way if our players keep giving up on us, as I said before, we are the only club around who can challenge Chelsea at the moment and this group of players is certainly good enough to win the league if its potential is reached. Moreover, this summer we spent close to £30m, so cash clearly isn't as much of an issue as the press would like to make out. People losing faith in this club sickens me, and Rooney is the prime candidate at the moment.

Talk about burying your head in the sand. A wealth of talent close to retiring, including the best manager the game has seen. All it takes is one bad season and you're fucked with the debt. Rooney probably sees it as a sinking ship, and I don't blame him.

Don't get this sidetracked for the sake of pedantry.

Lol, you make it sound like a debate could occur. Well i'm afraid Mourinho being the best isn't debateable so you don't need to worry.

When is this "bad season" going to happen though? I'm not being obtuse here, but people really have started to turn on United after a few shit results at the start of the season. Clearly there are things that aren't going well at United but you have to remember that this is the world's second-largest club.

Mourinho has already intimated his desire to manage us at some point, Vidic is staying for a while, Scholes seems to have legs left in him, Nani is the brightest wide prospect in the game at present, Berbatov has hit some form, there's good group of youngsters around from which a star might arise, and we have the greatest motivator in sport within our ranks who fight till the last to make sure this club stays great.

Winner.
