Not a bad little player to be fair. Put him in the Utd or Liverpool line up and he wont be as effective, if it all imo.

If he had Scholes alongside him in a three man midfield, I think he'd be very effective. Obviously the movement in front of him is not what he'd have at Barca but having a deep-lying playmaker to set things up and him as the more advanced playmaker carrying the ball from midfield would work quite well IMO.

He could play on the left for United.

Neither would Messi.

Put Dirk Kuyt in the Barca team on the other hand, and you'd have head and shoulders the best player of all time.

Nah, that would be "put Guardiola as manager of another club and he'd be nowhere near as good"...

Winner.

Iniesta is so much more penetrative as well, especially when he plays at CM, there's nobody better at carrying a ball from a deep position. In big games they miss Iniesta as much as anybody IMO, i really think they would've broken Inter down had they had Iniesta playing
I agree that he's much better at CM. His dribbling is amazing, easily the second-best dribbler in the world and the way he ran rings around the United midfield in the CL Final remains deep in my painful memory bank. But I just cannot understand how you can claim he's more penetrative than Xavi. Every season Xavi consistently scores more goals, racks up more assists, and plays more chance-creating passes than Iniesta. As Ant said, (sorry KOL), Xavi's ability to pick a pass is just that much better.

Iniesta is so often the difference between Barca passing it around looking for an oppurtunity & Barca completely dominating there oppponent. He seems to just speed up there passing & movement, and it's usually when he's heavily involved in the game that Barca are more penatrative IMo

I bet Ant is only thumbsupping the part agreeing with what he originally said.
