Winner.

He is still a world class player. People need a dose of reality, he isn't the type of player to run with the ball from box to box or play LB and LW at the same time. Stop making scapegoats and hold the rest of your mentally weak team accountable.

Er, his quality isn't up for debate. I've said I loved that we've signed him as his quality is great,

However, He's mentally weak. Did you see his face as he put the ball on the spot?
I said out loud - He looks scared.
Did you see that run up? The Shot? The shaking of the head, the guy looked close to tears.

Did he redeem himself after the miss? NO. He didn't do anything, he went missing.

Only the strong survive. And Ozil, for all the glitz and glamour he's bought to this Arsenal team, is mentally weak to be a real force. And by real force, I mean Henry, Shearer, C.Ronaldo, Aguero levels.

That top Tier level. He won't ever make it.

He's got the technique, flair, speed. He doesn't have the fight or the bottle.

Wenger said that the penalty miss affected his performance. Shouldn't happen. Wouldn't see Gerrard pussy out of a game after a penalty miss

Went missing? He was your best attacking player by far. Where was Ox in the second half, how many times did Sonogo hold up play to relieve the defense, what did Wilshere contribute upfront other than a stupid free kick at the end. Ozil was involved from start to finish, ok he was forced to because Robben and Rafinha were raping Monreal but he was involved. Have you forgotten how many times he ran the ball out because Sonogo went walkies just to relieve the pressure.

Was he affected by the penalty? Yes, more than he should have. Was he the worst player in the team? No, one of their best. Did he go missing? Fuck no.

I know.
No, never said he was.
Yes he did go missing - He started like hot fire, missed the pen, and didn't do much afterwards.

To me, that says bottler/ weak mentality.

Somebody like Gerrard, Cristiano Ronaldo, Aguero, would rise to the occasion. They'd be so beat up about missing that pen, that they would make it their goal to win the fucking match. They'd get the ball and drive forward like nobody's business.

You'd see in their play that they'd drive the team forwards. They'd play with anger. They'd play with purpose. They're mentally tough and have supreme willpower.

Ozil crumbled.

I've never seen Aguero or Gerrard put in stunning performances after missing a pen. Struggling to think of Ronaldo doing so either.

I said they would. They have that in their locker. Never said they did do it. Ronaldo screams in frustration at his team mates if they don't pass to him for a tap in when Real are 4-0 up and it's the dying minutes. He's a born winner. and he wants the goals 1st minute or the 91st.
And did you see Ronaldos match vs Copenhagen in the group stages? Missed a penalty and went beast mode.

Gerrard flipping captained Pool to the greatest CL comeback ever. Of course he's the man for the big occasion.

Ozil when he arrived needed to be rotated more and rested not chucked in to the deep end all the time. A top manager would have understood this.

WENGER CANNOT HANDLE BIG NAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ronaldo missed the two most important penalties of our season in 08 against Barcelona and Chelsea so it's not out of the fucking realms of possibility.

When you have the sort of season Ronaldo had in 08, a penalty miss here and there usually gets a pass by the masses.

When you fail to show up in every big match and then decide to take such a wank penalty in the biggest game of the season, you get battered mate. And Mentality gets called into question.

Flamini had a right go at him for not tracking back, and then not putting a tackle in. Damn right.
