It's a little thing, but it can be the difference between you feeling comfortable playing and feeling the weight of expectation.

Look at how certain players avoid certain shirt numbers on purpose e.g. Kaka and #5, and look at how some managers make a big deal of assigning a player a specific number e.g. Fergie moving Rooney from #8 to #10 and then giving Carrick the #16 shirt.

So, which shirt number do you usually prefer to take?

Success is winning championships. It is nothing less than that. And when you win a championship - and we will - success isn't measured or accomplished by winning once.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

11. My favourite number and Ryan Giggs was my favourite player growing up.

Number 4 definitely, tells everyone you're the boss in the middle, just gives off hardness, but also suggests you can play the ball around a bit too. Marquez, Fabregas, Zanetti, Vinnie Jones, Vieira. If anyone says 11 or 7 then they're a confirmed faggot.

number 10 is probably the greatest number in the history of the game

Pele, Maradona, Baggio, Rivaldo, Hagi, Zidane, Ronaldinho, Rui Costa, Kaka, Messi, Rooney, Sneijder, (Jay Jay Okocka :) ) are just an example of players who are great players of their generation to don the the shirt.

makes me sick how arsenal can allow a fucking centre back to wear a number with so much prestige. fucking joke club

Its a fucking shirt number. The fact that Bolton are even allowed to use the fucking number is a disgrace.

Ace is going off on one of his silly rants again, trying to pick out little holes whislt failing to appreiciate reebok's wider point - that the number 10 is iconic.
