prior to roman avramovic buying chelsea, they were on the verge of bankrupsy, in a similar situation to pompey, fortuneately for chelsea, a russian billionaire was looking to buy a football club and show that money could bring success, success that a mediocre club like chelsea had only previously dreamed of, had that not happened where would chelsea been today, they would have been forced to sell their best players and probably the ground, they certainly wouldnt be the side they are now, more like the club theyve been for the previous 50+ years of occasional fame also where would man utd be had the board bowed to pressure in the late 80s and sacked alex ferguson, he's brought unprecedented success to the club that i didnt think i'd ever see, with no fergie how successful would united be arsenal had had success under george graham, but after his departure they looked a shadow of the team they were under graham, had the appointment of arsene wenger not been made where do you think arsenal would be now(and remember arsenal fans that regardless of the recent trophy drought, he's brought you a lot of honours inc 3 titles) liverpool were still a great side when kenny dalglish resigned, graeme souness took charge and totally changed the side, although he won the f.a. cup in 92 he ripped apart a successful side, what do you think liverpool would have achieved in the years of souness being in charge, had dalglish remained at the club feel free to add turning points of any club you wish |

I'm just glad for football that United didn't sack Ferguson and Abramovich did buy Chelsea, otherwise the english game I know and love wouldn't be here for me to enjoy and discuss on this forum. I'd have liked to see what would have happened at Barca if we hadn't sold Ronaldo, or if we'd hired Mourinho instead of Pep. |

barca couldnt have done any better under mourinho than guardiola surely, would have been a lot less pure football though that they currently play |
