NICOLAS ANELKA has launched a bitter attack on his former Chelsea boss Avram Grant. Blues striker Anelka is out to sink the Pompey chief in today's FA Cup final.
And his determination will be fired by the six unhappy months he spent under Grant in 2007-08.
In a new book published tomorrow, he even claims he missed the seventh and decisive penalty in the 2008 Champions League final as his confidence was so low.
Anelka writes: "I set great store by emotions and Grant did not show great confidence in me.
"In the 2008 Champions League final against Manchester United, Grant threw me on as a sub without giving me any warning.
"In the end I messed up the very last penalty in the shootout, which Edwin van der Sar pushed away. It is sad to say but I knew I was going to miss my kick."
Grant has previously claimed Anelka, a £15m buy from Bolton, was brought in against his wishes in January 2008.
Anelka, played mostly out wide or as a sub by Grant, adds: "Grant used to look down on me.
"It was as though he felt I should be grateful and not ask for anything. The pretext for this was I had been brought in from Bolton."
i fucking love anelka. what he did for us in the time he was there was magical but this is very bitter i think.
he's too good to vent his frustration and failure on another manager.

What a numpty, might as well blame Terry for missing and then he wouldn't have had to take one. Fact is he was number fucking 7 to take one, stop complaining you twat. Viva Avram.

Winner.

this quote fucked me off actually. how on earth are you not ready to come on in a MATCH let alone the CL final? what if a player got injured and they needed him on? shocking attitude from the lad.

FA Cup final is the same day as the Copa Del Rey final. I hope I don't have to miss Arsenal.

Well he was trained by Wenger in the art of moaning. I saw your name in this thread and knew exactly what was coming. So fucking predictable it's unreal mate, up your game.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart
