Ummm yeah. Anyways, over-rated? On what basis? People call him inconsistent, yet, for example, he had a record of 1 goal for every 160 minutes...
Ok, maybe your right. He wasn't overrated because not many people rate him that highly.

On another not, I remember a game he played in Copa America in 2007 I believe. Recoba, Forlan, and Rodriguez ripped this team to shreds in the early fixtures. Can't remember who.

Success is winning championships. It is nothing less than that. And when you win a championship - and we will - success isn't measured or accomplished by winning once.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Recoba was one of these many players that split opinion so much, capable of magic with so much ability, but he never really consistently used it and never became one of the best players in the world. I don't think anybody has ever really claimed that he is one of the very best at what he did so I'd be cautious to call him overrated, but the spectacular things that he occasionally produced have often overshadowed what was a player that frequently failed to deliver.

i think he had as much raw potential (if not more) than messi, but he failed to produce consistently even though he had his moments. it really is a shame, if he had the mentality of a c.ronaldo then he could have very well gone down as one of the greatest of all time.

regardless, he will always hold a special place in my footballing heart

Tbh anyone with the mentality of Cristiano Ronaldo will go a very long way in life, whatever field they want to specialise in.

He's such a winner, and I believe that he will surpass Messi in his time and go on to become the greatest ever. He is the best player in the world and I don't care if the majority want to wank Messi off for an irrelevant performance against Arsenal; when it comes to the big, important games where a goal is necessary then there is only one man to call on and his name is not Lionel.

In the Bernabeu when he stepped up to take the all-important penalty you could feel the weight of the world on his shoulders and the burden of responsibility he felt with the hearts of every madridista resting in his hands (feet). CR9 felt no pressure and slotted it like the champion he is; I only wish the rest of his team could chip in against the bigger teams to help their star earn the reputation that he so fully deserves.

He is more talented than Messi and he has a better mentality. CR9 has only just begun, watch this fucking space.
