http://www.101greatgoals.com/videodisplay/5400881/ I just watched this, and had a thought. It's a bit of a cliché and has been said many times before I'm sure, but still. Does this game not strike you as incredibly pedestrian? The black guy for Madrid injects a tad of pace and the winger then just ambles towards the full back, who makes a bloody lazy attempt at dispossessing him before the winger decides the change direction, skips faintly to pretend he's putting some effort in and delivers a cross. There is some criticism of Spanish football. Here is some praise. The ball he plays in, 7/10 times a PL winger would just bash that at goal or at the striker at the near post. That cross had so much vision and appreciation of angles to it, it really was good to watch. The finish too - the ball was bobbling slightly and there are so many occasions in the PL where you'd see someone blazing that horribly over, but the technical ability of the Spanish game has oft been heralded (I know in this case it was an ex-PL player who provides the excellent finish but it's still symptomatic of the league). Thoughts on the veritable laziness of Spanish football and the phenomenal technical ability? Would you say you've ever seen such a pedestrian passage of play in the PL? Will we ever see the same levels of technical ability in the PL? Will La Liga ever contain teams who actually try?! Edited by Artrun, Apr 20 2010, 11:42 AM.

You're acting as if similar things don't happen in the PL week in, week out. Check out Cesc Fabregas' goal vs Spurs... |
