Well done. You win fuck all every year but at least you do well financially. That must feel just as good as winning a trophy...
Just fuck off. According to that we should be 11th in the league, instead we've produced the only side to have ever gone the season unbeaten. It shows that Wenger has done amazingly well with the money he's spent
Who gives a flying fuck where you "should be"?! It's about trophies, and Arsenal have gone another year without winning one.
Anybody else with that ammount of spending wouldn't expect to win a trophy
but what about the amount you spend on wages? 3rd highest in the PL
We've got the 3rd highest wage bill in the PL, quite fair considering we're the 3rd best side in the PL

but you've won nothing to reflect or justify that wage bill.

A place in the Champion's League each season generates massive revenue for the club, so that is winning. As i said, if we slash our wage bill to make room for a few more big name signings, our constant injury crisis would leave us unable to field a semi-respectable team for large chunks of the season and we'd slip out of the top four. There's absolutely nothing wrong with opting for a deep squad and not spending massively on signings, instead of spending massively on signings and having a shallow squad to keep the wage bill down. That's evidently what many of those teams above us in this chart have done, and they languish below us in the leage and always will do.
