how long are they going to be allowed to get away with shambolic calls? Fabregas' handball - how the fuck didn't the ref see that? Nani red card - harsh Boetang red card - sickening call Evans foul on Carew - stonewall penalty just some of the pathetic calls from the twats in black |

It's not a case of not seeing it, he just bottled it. More than likely knew he gave us the original free kick softly. Bet he was bricking it incase we scored, then Fabregas handballs right after being booked. Should have given us a free kick on the edge of the area and sent Fabregas off, we go on to equalise, could you imagine the uproar! People would have been calling for his head had he given it, such is the life of a referee. |

true. but then again he didn't hesitate booking Bendtner for diving. some ref's would of pointed straight at the spot because 50,000 people shouted penalty |

More to the point, Kuyt dived in the first place so justice was served. Anyway, from the angle the referee was stood it did actually look like it hit Fabregas on the head, his arm was raised perfectly to disguise it. Also, Fabregas was outside of the box and his arm more so.
Not really harsh at all, two footed lunge with studs up going over the ball. Simple as that really. |

To be fair i'm not sure Nani's was that two footed...i think he pulled his left foot back. He just jumped in a bit too much which, this season inparticular, you will always get a red card for. But i agree with the general point. The amount of big decisions that are being wrongly given/not given regarding penalties and red cards especially seems to be increasing. |

The thing with referees is that there's no accountability. Players and managers are subject to trial in hindsight, why not referees? I'm not suggesting that the very fact referees recieve limited, and infrequent, punishment for their errors is the sole reaon for their inadequacies but it might help if they knew that a poor performance WOULD be picked up on and addressed accordingly. |

maybe not but 5-6 years a go i think he would have deemed to have played the ball, there was menace or rage in the challenge and take in to consideration the angle he was running from it and also the fact he did win the ball too. Lee Dixon has said numerous times that ref's seem to be attempting to stamp out the art of tackling in this country |

thought it was Gerrard who dived and then Kuyt was fouled but then Fabregas should have been sent off for handball and also the free kick was an on target shot too. denying a goal scoring chance by foul play i would say, red card Fab, free kick Liverpool. |

Kuyt dived too. Gerrard's dive was as bad as Bendtners so play should also have been stopped and a yellow card brandished. |

Nani's red was the right decision although it's far from the worst "two-footed lunge" I've ever seen and I have seen players get away with such tackles but even still, he should know better than to go in like that. Gerrard dived before Kuyt went down, a little easily but I think a free-kick nonetheless. After that Fabregas' handball was 100% intentional. 2nd yellow and a red card would've been the correct decision. With Almunia in goal, I don't think he would've saved Gerrard's free-kick, it looked goal-bound to me. |

It was on target but it looked easily saveable to me. And as for the Almunia comment, he was on great form last night and that save from Babel was top notch, twice as tough as the Gerrard free kick would have been.

Yeah that's what I thought RM. It wasn't a rocket of a shot by any means but I think it would've just crept in. |
