Out for the season with a blood clot in his arm. Huge blow for Bolton and for Cahill. He'd been tipped for consideration for the WC squad but this almost certainly ends that dream.

this is a massive blow for us but is far more horrible for Gary. he will miss the World Cup, IMO he was certain to go, and he also has the stress of this serious condition.

he's still only 24 so he still has a chance of future tournaments
