Beautiful goal, along with a World Cup Final penalty. Look Zidane was the best player in the tournament, let alone in the French camp.

Perhaps, tbh I don't even know why I'm arguing against this point. Regardless of whether it's true it doesn't change the fact taht Zidane wasn't a great captain. Nothing on the likes of Keane or Vieira.

It's far harder to lead from the front than it is from the back.

And Paddy, not in the manner that someone like Rooney does it though?
But we were talking abouit Gerrard, and Rooney is not a captain.
