He was marginally better, yeh, what a player Robert Pires was, world class all day long, so underrated, Premiership legend. I value Wrighty but there's so much he doesn't understand and it's not surprising because he can't play the game. If you're a fantastic attacking footballer you are far more able to relate to the intricacies of football. Watching lots of football is good, but it can never take you to that next level. Wrighty understands the game more than most people that are better footballers than him, so it's not a concrete theory, but in this specific discussion it certainly applies, that's why there's no point asking him to compare the greatness of two goals, because he won't have my insight and understanding. He probably thinks Fabregas' free kick against Villa is better than Gerrard's 25 yarder at Marseille. Lovely lad though, passion for football and very insightful for a yank, but he's more like Pep Guardiola than Jose Mourinho. |

Yep, absolutely, I rated them more highly than everyone else when they weren't recognised or developed as top players, and each of them later proved what I saw in them from the start. |

Scholes and KOL's lists are pretty much spot on although I agree with Ant, of the contenders for second place, I'd have Milan in second, Barca and Utd are fairly close. |

Utd are a huge club no less than 4th and along with the top 5-6 clubs, there's something special about our club but we have really taken advantage of an age where commercial power plays a big part in the size of a club. Milan don't and probably never will have such commercial power and fan base around the world but IMO, they are the kings of Europe. 7 EC/CL to Real Madrid's 9 but Real won the first 5 when the competition was only really finding it's feet. Milan are a massive club, they're trophy count is bigger and better than Utd's and Barcelona's I think. |
