I understood he still had 2 years left on his contract? Chelsea reputedly offered 40m and Madrid were willing to match it so I can't see them accepting the equivalent of 25m retarded yank

If he doesn't move this summer he'll have less than a year left on his contract and when that happens he'll be leaving for nothing, so this summer is the only time they'll be able to cash in on him.

So your saying he is entering the final year of his contract? I can't see a club as savvy as bayern allowing that to happen, surely they would have cashed in last summer if that were the case?

The only chance we have of getting him though is if he's adament that he'll only join Arsenal. Which may happen because we know he loves Arsenal, but i doubt it. The pressure from Bayern for him to go to the club offering the most, and the temptation of ridiculous wages, will most likely ensure we lose out.

They've been trying to tie him up to a new contract but he doesn't want to sign. He's said he'll make his future clear by March, and it's pretty much certain he'll be asking for a move to a top club.

Cue Sphinx or Crimson making the predictable joke that that rules us out.

That's why I laugh at Wenger.

FA Cup final is the same day as the Copa Del Rey final. I hope I don't have to miss Arsenal.

I dont trust Wenger to spend big money correctly. Nasri cost almost 15M. I would not call him value for money.

Cesc: "I hate to give specific instructions, but sometimes it's necessary," Cesc told AS.

"For example, if I see a teammate who does not pass because he would prefer to do everything and be the star, that makes me angry and I'll talk to him.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Success is winning championships. It is nothing less than that. And when you win a championship - and we will - success isn't measured or accomplished by winning once.
