Everton vs Arsenal
2002.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Different how? He curled the ball in with the inside of his foot from the outside of the box. Well and truly placed in the side of the net, I'm sure that's what Moe is trying to say, is it not? "Placing shots"

If that's not a placed shot Scholes, well I would like you to explain what is a placed shot.

He curled it low into the corner at St.James'. Nowdays he's trying to generate top-spin and his technique has changed ridiculously. They must be coming off in training because it's getting beyond a joke in matches now.

but what infuriates me is his insistance on placing shots from 25 yards out. he has never scored a goal like that
I didn't really read into that much Scholes, I just read this comment and remembered he did score a placed shot against Newcastle which he most certainly did. Different technique or whatever, Moe said he never scored a placed shot from around 25 yards, I corrected that, if he had mentioned the technique used, I would have thought it was relevant, but he didn't so I think my post still made perfect sense.

Scholes I don't see why you want Rooney as a pure CF.

Not explicity perhaps, but you saw what happened yesterday - and what's happened whenever Giggs has playerd this season. Rooney was playing as a straight-up CF for the majority of the game, until Owen came on...

Sorry but Owen has partnered Rooney prior to last night this season and nothing clicked at all. It was just a special set of circumstances last night...Eastlands is a good footballing arena, it was a Manchester Derby, the pitch was class and Rooney and United were eager to score especially after the nature of going behind...people are reading too much into it and are looking at it too simplistically. He'd struggle to produce that on a consistent basis especially at Old Trafford. As I've also mentioned, he's dropped deep several times this season. It hasn't been a fixed position, but he's been there, and failed to produce anything like what we saw last night. I don't think it was Owen's movement that allowed him to do what he did last night, but I agree that Giggs, although he gets on my nerves a little, is vital to Rooney's and United's game. He's so fucking great at times, creative spark we often lack.
